Hey all! I’m sure most of your remember Captain Curt’s (with Pacific Charters) medical issues that started back in June. I’m here with an update. He is currently medically stable but STILL unable to return to our waters to chase those fish that we all desire!!
That being said, our wonderful local fishing community has joined hands to support Curt as he has supported us all throughout the years.
We’ve received many donations and would like to thank all the donors. We have come together for yet another raffle, but this one is so much larger in size! We will be raffling off:

Coos Bay - City Government
FACELIFT PLANNED FOR THE BITE'S ON TACKLE SHOP
The Coos Bay Urban Renewal Agency and McKay’s Market, LLC are partnering together to give the existing “The Bite's On” Tackle Shop and bottle drop structure a much-needed facelift.
The project includes replacing the existing wood siding with 'Pewter' colored Hardie-Plank siding and replacing the existing canopy with a 'Dark Brown' metal canopy and with trim the painted the same color. They also intend to pressure wash and reseal the existing aggregate panels on the north, east and south elevations.
The project is scheduled to begin in September and should be completed within two weeks. The project is expected is to cost $37,632. On August 6, the Coos Bay Urban Renewal Agency approved a Façade Improvement Grant in an amount up to $18,816, which is 50 percent of the projected cost.
The Façade Improvement Grant program is designed to help revitalize Coos Bay’s two Urban Renewal Districts, with improvements such as paint, awnings and other exterior enhancements. Eligible properties can receive as much as $25,000 in matching grants.

One of our derby winners in the kid’s division lost his rod overboard in the Marshfield channel today, just up from the barge. It’s an expensive Wraptor rod with his name on it. If you should happen to drag it up, please notify us. Thanks.

River levels are low and clear. New fishing regulations have arrived come down to hear what bottomfishing will look like in 2018. Also don't forget that 2018 licenses are already on sale. They make great stocking stuffers as well as lots more in the shop. Look forward to seeing you soon.
Crabbing in coos bay is back open. Come down and start grabbing stocking stuffers for Christmas. And don't forget today and tomorrow are free fishing days in Oregon.
