Great first day back on the court after a two month injury absence. Fantastic way to start the day. I’ve missed it.

First day testing the foot after a two-month injury. I realized this morning that it’s not just the movement and physicality and fitness and sweat and test of skills that I love, it’s also the drive with the top down through the banyan trees with the wind in my hair and hearing the birds. Just being outside. Let’s hope I pass the test as, wow, am I sick of the gym. (Oh, and FYI, that might be the best wall in the world - over two courts wide, court grade surface, 20’ high so even I only occasionally hit over it. I’ve spent many hours playing with Mr. Wall, who like Mr. Ball Machine, never misses and never gets tired.)

Last day of tennis for 2020 - 1000+ balls w/ Mr. Ball Machine! A great way to finish the year. 205 days of tennis for me in 2020, an all time high. Take that COVID! Ha! My thanks to all of my hitting and playing partners for sharing so much tennis, fun and fellowship this year. And my thanks to the great tennis staffs at Salvadore Park Tennis Center, The Biltmore, and for all they do for their tennis communities. Let’s do it again in 2021! 👍 🎾

Moon up-sun up. Beautiful morning on the court. The moon was still up looking west and it was a beautiful, colorful sunrise in the East. Followed by a great two hour hitting session with my friend Happy Monday everyone! Have a great week!

Fog on the mountain this morning. Same shot at 9:15 and 11:15. About 66° on the way up and 74° on the way down. My last day here. I'm already missing it. I've had so much fun here both times I've visited this summer. This court is at about 3500 feet elevation and in a little bowl surrounded by mountains. It's super peaceful. My thanks to all my friends at Balsam Mountain Preserve for making me feel welcome. Until next year!

Brrrr! 54° at match time at 10 am this morning. Brisk but awesome! Played 2 hours of doubles then gave a friend a lesson for an hour and a half. So much fun! I love being here!!!

My sincere thanks to Head Pro Clete Browder and all my tennis buddies at NorthRiver Yacht Club for welcoming me and letting me play with them these past six weeks. I made a lot of new friends, got to see some other friends, and played a lot of fun tennis. I’m a singles player and I played doubles here about 5 times a week and I learned a lot about doubles and even things that will help my singles game. Thanks again everyone and special thanks to Mike Case for taking me under his wing and organizing all the great matches! Hope to see you all again soon!

Full house at the weekly Saturday tennis dogfight at NorthRiver Yacht Club this morning, Four full courts of doubles. I played 4 hours today and didn’t play so well, but it was still fun and I learned a lot (my partners learned to pick someone else next time!🤣). Happy Saturday everyone!
