As the last of our kiddos head back to school, we thought it would be fun to reflect on the awesome summer we had! There are a lot of “best things” when it comes to Jakkal Hill, but this barn family is the absolute best. We love providing a community to riders, young and old. Jakkal Hill isn’t just a place to learn to ride, it’s a place to learn horsemanship, develop lifelong friendships and have fun, and we couldn’t be more grateful!

It was a little wet today but another great IEA show with some great draws and some great rounds! So proud of these girls who worked their butts off and so proud of our horses who definitely deserve all the treats they got! A huge thank you to Hunters Ridge for hosting a great show and being so adjustable with the weather!

High School High Point and Middle School Reserve High Point! What a great start to our IEA season and a beautiful day! So proud of all our riders, and especially those who showed for their very first time today!

Our final JHS Grad heading off to college is none other than Kaleb. If you know JHS, you know Kaleb. He has been a fundamental and irreplaceable part of Jakkal Hill since the beginning (fun fact! The name Jakkal comes from the Johnstons' initials, "Kal" for Kaleb.) Not having Kaleb around to help exercise and train horses, assist with lessons and generally help manage things around the barn is going to be a tough transition, but we could not be more proud of his accomplishments and everything in store for his future at SCAD and the equestrian world at large! Thanks for everything, Kaleb, from all of us at JHS!

It is finally August and that means our JHS grads are headed off to college starting this month! We could not be more proud to celebrate these hardworking young adults. Undoubtedly, they will be going on to great things, and hopefully will be coming back to visit as often as possible!
