F.U.N is currently being developed to take on the challenge of youth obesity, which is an increasing epidemic in our community as well as communities all around the United States. According to Healthy People 2020 in Physical Activity Guidelines for America “more than 80% of adolescents do not do enough aerobic physical activity to meet the guidelines for youth” and F.U.N wants to be part of the on
going fight to combat childhood obesity. F.U.N is committed to bring education, information and motivation to promote a healthier lifestyle. F.U.N will operate and provide a safe learning environment. We will be teaching about the risks associated with living a sedentary life style and highlight the benefits of living an active lifestyle. We hope to engage with our community’s youth and deliver tools necessary for success. F.U.N hopes to accomplish this by enlightening the youth on the many benefits associated with eating healthier and living an active life. Our awareness program will increase the child’s; daily activity, social skills, proper body mechanics use, bone mass, energy, strength, flexibility, immunity, self-esteem, as well as reduce anxiety, stress, falls, and depression, which are known to be caused by obesity.
