Coronado Water Polo has a story worth remembering. For generations, Coronado High School water polo has been more than a sport. It’s been a tradition, a community, and a part of the Islander legacy.

Now, we’re looking back through the decades. 1967–2026. Nearly 60 years of athletes, coaches, teams, championships, friendships, rivalries, traditions, and memories that helped shape Coronado water polo.

The Coronado Historical Association, in partnership with Crown City Water Polo, is beginning an exciting project to preserve that history, and we need your help.

Calling all Coronado High School water polo alumni!
Did you play? Coach? Manage? Cheer from the stands? Have old team photos, programs, memorabilia, or a story that deserves to be remembered? We want to hear from you. And this is just the beginning!

Crown City Water Polo Club (CCWP) was created in 2025 to meet a clear need for water polo in Coronado and throughout San Diego.

That need is that, as a 501(3) c charitable organization, we strive to make water polo affordable and accessible to all.
This philosophy dates back decades: sports should be accessible and affordable for players of all interests regardless of financial means.

Through CCWP, we provide access to elite coaching and development opportunities for kids of all age groups, including middle school and high school, and we also offer legacy water polo through our masters program.

Professional coaches with proven records of success run all programs and focus on the holistic development of each and every individual.

To keep our program accessible to all, including scholarships to athletes who may need financial assistance, purchase of training equipment, help with rental fees, and more, we need to raise funds from time to time to offset growing operational costs.
If you can and are willing, please consider making a charitable donation to Crown City Water Polo Club and support water polo in Coronado and throughout San Diego.

Last night was one for the books. 🤽‍♂️

We were honored to welcome the Cal and UCLA Men’s Water Polo teams to our home pool here in Coronado. Watching two of the nation’s premier programs compete right in front of our athletes was more than an incredible game; it was an experience that inspires the next generation.

For a community like Coronado, where water polo runs deep, nights like this mean so much. This is where the legacy continues. Where young athletes get to see what’s possible, dream a little bigger, and understand that the work they put in today can take them places they may only imagine.

We are incredibly proud to be part of a community with such a rich water polo tradition, and even more excited to help carry that tradition forward.

Thank you to Cal and UCLA for bringing elite-level water polo to our home pool and giving our athletes a night they won’t forget.

The future of water polo in Coronado is bright. 💚
