and have come together to put on a local fly tying night here in Corpus. I’m stoked to be a part of a great group of guys working to make tying less intimidating.

Thankful for moments like these. Today, I got to show my grandpa and stepdad how we run boats down here in Texas and, how different it is stalking fish on the flats than standing in a trout stream. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I know I know, I’ve missed a few posts so here is a quick update of this incredible season so far.

Wow, 10 miles, 3,000 feet of elevation gain, and huge Colorado Cutthroat. What a great weekend spent with great friends.

I love getting the chance to teach while out on the river. Some high water today lead to learning some new techniques and adapting to the situation at hand.

Sometimes lessons can be learned where you least expect; this past weekend breaking out the ol’ bamboo rod reminded me to slow down and enjoy every moment on the water. I can’t wait to see what this season has in store!

Great day guiding yesterday, got two fly fishing beginners 3 fish each on dries!

Guided for the first time this season yesterday! Had a great group of guys and caught several fish, unfortunately we did not get any photos of them. Was an awesome start to the great season to come.

The big river may still be flowing fast, but the fish are still eating!
