Copeland’s went on a 5 day week, (off on Tue and Sun) over a year ago. That schedule will change Monday March 23, 2026, afterwards we will only be open by appointment. Call 361-854-1135, if necessary leave your name and phone and your call will be returned as soon as possible .

We have several thousand dollars of used scuba systems we are selling, we are filling scuba cylinders and repairing equipment also.

The corals coming to Texas will be used for a number of research and education purposes - preserving genotypes of endangered coral, for experiments with sedimentation, and for general outreach and information on coral health monitoring. These little ambassadors are getting packaged up right now and about to take their big journey! ✈️🪸💙

Meet our Staff!

My name is Dr. Michelle Johnston. I am the newly selected Sanctuary Superintendent for Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary!

I started with national marine sanctuaries as a Knauss Fellow in 2010, and transitioned to FGBNMS in 2012. I've served in a variety of science positions and developed expertise in sanctuary management, coral reef ecology, invasive species management, outreach, and community engagement. I am also a NOAA dive master with hundreds of hours of dives in the sanctuary collecting coral reef data. I look forward to accomplishing great things with the fantastic team we've built in Galveston!
