We’re out here in Dallas for this weekend’s South Central Gold Cup Finals! If you’re not familiar with BMX racing then here’s the breakdown 👇
Gold Cup is a regional USA BMX racing series. Our South Central region includes Colorado, New Mexico, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas. Throughout the year tracks across these states host Gold Cup Qualifiers. Riders who want to make it to finals with the chance of getting a Gold Cup plate have to race at least 2 qualifiers, with their best two qualifier scores counting toward their Gold Cup final points.
Then it all comes together at the Championship, happening this weekend at DeSoto BMX! Riders race both Saturday and Sunday & those results are added to their qualifier points. And what are they racing for? Those GOLD (yellowish) plates! 🏆
At the end of the weekend, the top three riders in each eligible age and skill class earn the coveted Gold Cup #1, #2, or #3 plate for 2026 with the #1 rider also earning the Gold Cup jacket. So this weekend is the culmination of races these riders have been working toward all season long. 🚲💨🏁
Good luck to all of our South Central racers chasing GOLD this weekend! 🏆
