9 years ago today Hurricane Harvey came ashore. 🌀

What a turn our day took! Went out to disconnect the forestay of a boat waiting to be hauled out at North Shore Boat Works and apparently the mast had a whole hive of honey bees in it and they were good and pi**ed off once we dropped the headsail, dragging the wire halyard through their comb. Fortunately we had all the gear to protect ourselves but had to run back home to get it after Matt got stung 5 times. Here he is back at the boat to disconnect the forestay. 🐝🐝🐝

LOOOOOONG day in the heat today, although aren't they all at this point? We started this morning dropping a mast in CC (forgot to get any pics) and spent the rest of the day replacing all the rigging on these 2 masts. Fiona Sebring (up the mast for the umpteenth time today) as always is a trooper and just keeps going, despite the heat. ♥️
