🌙 Rasa Yoga Tonight with Yogi Manuel Garza-Hoelscher| 6:00 p.m. | Zaya Yoga Corpus Christi 🌙

Ash on the brow.
A silver crescent rising. 🌒

Tonight we gather in that sacred in-between.

Ash Wednesday in the tradition of Christianity reminds us that everything changes. The roles we carry. The stories we cling to. Even the weight we thought we had to hold forever.

And just as yesterday’s new moon slipped into a waxing crescent, the light is quietly returning. Not loud. Not flashy. Just steady.

In Rasa Yoga tonight, we’ll move through both energies:

🔥 The refining fire that helps us release what no longer fits.
🌙 The tender crescent that invites us to choose what begins again.

Expect grounding breath, intentional heat, crescent shapes, and a closing meditation that honors both humility and hope. This is not about giving something up. It’s about clearing space for what matters most.

If something in you is ready to soften…
If something in you is ready to grow…
Come practice.

🌙 Rasa Yoga Tonight with Yogi Manuel Garza-Hoelscher | 6:00 p.m. | Zaya Yoga Corpus Christi 🌙

Tonight we move beneath the waning crescent moon, a sacred threshold where release becomes wisdom and rest becomes power.

This Rasa Yoga practice is slow, soulful, and deeply grounding. We’ll soften the body, quiet the nervous system, and gently let go of what has completed its season. No striving. No pushing. Just breath, presence, mantra, and stillness.

Come as you are.
Bring what feels heavy.
Leave with more space.

🕯️ All levels welcome

False gurus, such as Yogi Bhajan, aren't exactly uncommon. But the teachings of yoga can help us discern truth from deception.

Gratitude power for the messiness and contradictions of life.

Gratitude is a powerful shift that we can explore with authenticity when the road is rocky, when the world seems upside down.

It is a core soulful wellness practice. It is the essence of the book I wrote “Tending the heartfire”.

* The neuroscience of gratitude reveals the practice transmutes stress more effectively than most thoughts or emotions.

* Particularly when paired with authenticity, gratitude brings us back to heart

our heart-brain entertainment
and to the soul food of life.

Finding Gratitude in all
phases of the day

In the simplicity
In the savoring of being alive
as well as

Gratitude amidst the Mess

In the middle of it all, gratitude invites us to, as the great poet Derek Walcott encourages us to fall in love with the world in spite of history.”

My next post is about honoring indigenous communities and ways of being everywhere particularly where you live.

There we find the wisdom teachers who reflect this power of gratitude for creation for being alive.

Here are some cross-cultural ancestral understandings - words- for the power of gratitude in many forms.

Haʻahaʻa (Hawaiian Olelo)
- humility that deepens gratitude by softening the ego.

Kr̥tajñatā (Sanskrit): Gratitude as a way of living - an offering.

Ayni (Quechua): A reciprocal gratitude that flows in both directions.

Teranga (Wolof, Senegal): A generosity so wholehearted that it transforms the giver.

Grateful for you, my friend whether we are just meeting or we know each other on the path.

It is a miracle to be alive and to have a medium, which to connect across time and space.

Sending you my gratitude amidst it all.

🦃✨ Turkey Leg Yoga Tonight at 6! ✨🦃

Happy Thanksgiving Eve, Yogins!
Tonight at Zaya Yoga we’re serving up Turkey Leg Yoga — even though (tragically) there will be zero actual turkey legs involved. But don’t worry… we will be stretching, roasting, and basting our way into gratitude as we soften into this cozy holiday energy.

This is the time of year when we circle back to our friends, families, colleagues, and neighbors to gather, feast, laugh, and remember that life is juicier when we share it. So come unroll your mat and pre-game the gratitude with us before tomorrow’s festivities. 🧡

✨ Thanksgiving Eve Affirmation

“With every breath, I welcome gratitude into my heart and offer kindness outward into the world.”
