How These 3 Dancers Have Kept Performing Into Their 60s and Beyond

Last night, I was reminded of our annual performances for our community here at the Corrales Community Library. This summer would have marked my 29th year of bringing families together, of sharing many cultures through Dance Around the World, and stories, and music, and movement. So many children including my own, who performed with us, who now have children of their own, who still recall the dances they learned, who are reminded when they see these dances performed elsewhere, hearing the chants at rugby games, and reading the stories to their own children. I’m grateful to all the performers who have joined us over the years. I miss sharing dance with others, I miss going to Salsa socials and dancing with a partner. I miss my community of friends and family, but still I DANCE! Whether alone at home or online at the studio, or eventually in public, I will continue to dance well into my 80’s and 90’s...until then, I’m inspired to “keep it moving” as Twyla Tharp’s latest book is titled and as these dancers do. Bravo! 👏🏼
