In our Cuban salsa classes, we teach two dances for the price of one. Casino is the couple’s dance and rueda is the group dance comsisting of a wheel of Cuban salsa dancers, where one person is the caller. In rueda we switch partners often, bump booties, and wiggle wiggle wiggle. 👩🏽‍🐰‍👩🏻

Usually summer classes are smaller, as most OSU students are out of town, and a lot of people go on vacation. But this summer has been an exception! It’s great having a lot of new folks in the beginner’s class this August as well as big intermediate and advanced classes.

This photo shows all the students intermingled as we briefly sketch in the new move of the day for the beginners. Each beginner gets to try the move with a more experienced student before we separate into our three classes. Plus, the experienced students benefit from a refresher on the fundamentals. Win win!

Our B***y Shakery workshop was awesome! After training on body isolations, we taught a short, yet challenging reggaeton choreo to Karol G’s “Latina Foreva.”

Advanced student challenge: a couple months ago Mike gave the advanced class a challenge…learn one challenging move each week for three months, then remember all 12 moves at the end of those three months. So naturally, during class break, the hardcore students practice their moves.
