The secret lies in the power of the Valsalva maneuver – a breathing technique that can supercharge your strength and stability during deadlifts.

Here's how it works: Before you start the lift, take a deep breath, filling your abdomen with air, and hold it tightly.

This increases intra-abdominal pressure, providing a solid core foundation and spinal support.

As a result, you'll be able to generate more force and conquer those heavier weights with ease!

But that's not all.

To maximize your deadlift potential, it's crucial to nail the optimal body position:

1️⃣ Foot Placement: Position your feet shoulder-width apart, allowing for a stable base of support. Point your toes slightly outward to engage your glutes and activate your posterior chain.

2️⃣ Hand Placement: Grab the barbell just outside your legs, ensuring your arms are fully extended. Opt for an overhand grip or mix it up with a mixed grip (one hand overhand, one underhand) for enhanced grip strength.

3️⃣ Body Alignment: Keep your chest up, shoulders back, and maintain a neutral spine throughout the lift. Engage your core muscles by bracing them as if preparing for a punch. This ensures proper spinal alignment and reduces the risk of injury.

Get ready to transform your deadlift TODAY with three actionable tips, and learn why this lift is non-negotiable for your goals. 🏋️‍♂️

🛠️ Tip #1: Pre-Activation Drills
Before you even touch the bar, fire up those glutes with a set of glute bridges. According to the Journal of Sports Science, this simple move can make each rep more effective.

🛠️ Tip #2: Switch Grip or Straps
Ditch the double overhand grip. Use a switch grip—one palm facing you, the other facing away. Or grab lifting straps. Say goodbye to grip fatigue, and hello to new PRs.

🛠️ Tip #3: Eccentric Control
Make the barbell your puppet. Lower it for a 3-4 second count. A study in the Journal of Applied Physiology proves this boosts muscle tension and strength.

Grab a partner and try todays team workout (courtesy of the strength and conditioning program ) 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

In Teams of 2:

Death By Power Cleans + 300/225 Cal Assault Bike

Partner 1:
300/225 Cal Assault Bike

Partner 2:
(0-1min.)
2 Power Cleans
(1-2min.)
3 Power Cleans
(2-3min.)
4 Power Cleans
.. And so on...

Partner 1 starts on the bike and accumulates as many calories as possible - while Partner 2 performs 2 Power Cleans - after 60 seconds, partners switch.

Partner 1 goes for 3 Power Cleans while Partner 2 rides the bike.

Add 1 Power Clean per minute until you can not finish the given reps anymore or you reach the 300/225 Calories.⁠

If for any reason you finish before 20min.... Perform as many deadlifts as possible until the 20min. Mark.

RX++ 185/135

If you still don't get understand... It's essentially an EMOM, but you're both working at the same time. Eventually, the cleans will get MUCH harder and both of you will be working extremely hard to finish. Try not to let the clock get you! Since you must finish the cleans within the minute!
