Today is Coach Marilyn’s last day with us as she heads off to USC to begin physical therapy school.

She’s only been with us for a year, but in that short time she’s earned the respect of every single person she’s worked with. Her knowledge and education are impressive, but what really stands out is her kindness and her quiet ability to get the very best out of people. She has a way of pushing our members to leave just a little stronger, more confident, and better than when they walked in.

We’ve also had the privilege of watching Marilyn grow herself. She finished her time at AIM with a huge 235 lb squat and a 110 lb bench press—both lifetime PRs and a reflection of the hard work she puts into everything she does.

Marilyn has been an incredible asset to our members, our staff, and our community. We’re sad to see her go, but we’re excited to watch her chase this next chapter. We have no doubt she has a bright future ahead and that she’ll make an incredible physical therapist.

Fight On, Marilyn! ✌️❤️💛

If you’ve ever walked out of one of our strength sessions thinking…

“Shouldn’t I be more tired?”

This is for you.

We’ve been taught to believe that sweat, soreness, and exhaustion equal results.

But if your goal is to get stronger, move better, and stay healthy for decades, that’s not always true.

We’re not training you to win today’s workout.

We’re training you to win the next 20 years.

Read through the slides—you might never look at strength training the same way again.

People join a gym because they want to get stronger, lose weight, or feel better.

What nobody talks about enough is what training with other people does for your mental health.

Research has linked group exercise to lower levels of stress and depression. And honestly, it makes sense.

Having people who know your name, notice when you’re gone, celebrate your wins, and compare where you are sore is powerful!

Strength matters. Community matters.

You need both.
