Horses Help SWI

Join us this Sunday at 1 PM for an evening of live music, community, and fun at Horses Help! We're excited to welcome performances by Dunn & Moore, JR, and a very special featured performance by Joslyn, a current Horses Help participant.

Bring your lawn chair, your favorite responsible beverage, and settle in for a relaxing evening on the ranch. All ages are welcome, and we encourage friends, family, and neighbors to come enjoy great music while supporting a great cause.

Summer Updates & July 4th Closure

As summer is in full swing, we wanted to share a few important updates with our participants, families, and volunteers.

Holiday Closure:
We will be closed the week of July 4th to allow time for staff training, observance of the holiday, and to help keep our horses comfortable and safe during a time when fireworks can be especially stressful for them. There will be no sessions during this closure period.

Summer Weather Reminders:
As temperatures rise and summer storms become more frequent, there may be occasional schedule adjustments, programming changes, or session cancellations to ensure the safety of our participants, volunteers, staff, and horses. We will communicate any changes as soon as possible.

Please help everyone stay safe and comfortable by:
Applying sunscreen before arriving
Bringing a water bottle and staying hydrated
Wearing hats, sunglasses, and lightweight summer clothing
Checking your messages for weather-related updates

Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we navigate the summer season. We look forward to continuing to provide safe, meaningful experiences for everyone while keeping both our participants and horses healthy and comfortable.

Our friends from Horses Help Southwest Iowa stopped by the House once again for a Mini Moment, bringing along Blackjack and Jewels to share some special companionship with our families.

From gentle nuzzles to plenty of smiles, these visits provide a welcome break and a chance for families to simply enjoy the moment together. We're grateful for the joy, comfort, and connection Horses Help continues to bring to the Ronald McDonald House.

Looking for a fun, hands-on summer experience for the horse lover in your life? Our Horses Help SWI Summer Horse Camps give campers the opportunity to learn about horse care, build confidence, make new friends, and create lasting memories at the ranch.

Campers will enjoy horse interactions, games, crafts, horsemanship activities, and plenty of time with our incredible equine partners.
