Two years and three months later, I’ve finally finished this very special build 💗💙

For those who do not know, I lost a brother in ‘24 and wanted to dedicate a bike to him. We both grew up on the coast of Maine and he loved lighthouses, so when this used Crust Bombora in my size popped up on Craigslist shortly after visiting family back home, I couldn’t help but think it was a message, or fate, or something spiritual, etc…

I snagged it and starting thinking about how I would build it to honor him. I don’t think, in any way, this would be his style, but I wanted it to be gentle, elegant and beautiful, just how I remember him. I plan to tour the Puget Sound in October and visit as many lighthouses I can as a sort of goodbye ride.

A huge thank you goes out to Smith at RatKing Frames for crafting such a stunning set of racks for this bike. I love them 🫶🏻

FREE kiddo helmets at Tour de Whidbey this Saturday, August 15th!! *as supplies last. Visit my booth at the middle school and I will inspect and date your child’s helmet and offer a replacement!

Did you know you should consider replacing your helmet every 3-5 years? Improper storage, such as in a hot garage or car, dropping it on a hard surface, and of course, a crash where your head makes contact are all reasons to replace a helmet. Over time, the foam can become brittle and not effective enough to prevent a head injury during a crash.

Available now is this medium frame with Shimano CUES 1x10 drivetrain in classic silver, 700c wheels with 35mm Teravail tires (frame can fit up to 42mm tires) and Shimano mechanical disk brakes. The chromoly frame is robust, has classic style and measures 56cm x 57cm, which will fit riders 5’-6” to 6 foot.

Friendly reminder to change your bar tape folks, yes, especially if you’re using the bike on a trainer! Tuning this bike for a customer who wanted to take it back out to the streets 😱, which could have resulted in a serious accident.

I’m not only really good at wrapping bars, I really like doing it 😂
