Well, we all woke up this morning with one plan for our day at The Pines, buttttt we ended up pivoting and going with Plan B...and Plan B did not disappoint!

🏆Reese L. & Scofield were Champions in the Pre-Children's Equitation with their best flat class to date!

🏅MaryKate & Rolltide were Champions in a competitive Adult Hunter Division!

Our final day at CHJA-Connecticut Hunter & Jumper Association Medal Finals was a successful one!

Eliza C. borrowed Scofield 🏇🏿and rode to a 12th place finish in the Children's Equitation Final! Thank you Morgan Greer for being so great to work with a producing a nice young rider!

Tess G. and Posh Practical Magic 💛 continued their winning partnership and placed 9th in the Pre-Children's Equitation Final, moving up two spots on the flat--not surprising as this pair spent an entire year getting to know each other well on the flat before starting the 2ft divisions this season.

Grace D. also made her CHJA debut in the inaugural Leadline Spectacular. This kid...this pony...TOO CUTE.💗

Katie Daoud & Gof Oakland took on the Master's Medal at CHJA finals this morning. They went third in the order and improved in every area from their performance yesterday! An unlucky slip on wet grass at the end of the ring caused them to miss the flat phase by 1 pt, but still a stellar round for a horse's first ever equitation final! We're so proud of this team and the work they've put in this summer. Onto Zone 1 finals, NEHC, and Tyron for this pair!🖤

Hunter Classic Day at CHJA Finals in the books!

🖤 Gof Oakland, our baby equitation horse (and future 💫) had an excellent handy portion of their Adult Hunter Classic round today with Katie Daoud in the irons! Katie does such a good job giving confident rides to these horses who are finding their way.

💛Posh Practical Magic and Tess G. Rode to a stellar 5th place finish out of a very competitive 25 riders in the 2ft Hunter Classic! This pair has grown SO much in the past 2 years...this kid told me last year she was happy just flatting, and today she brought home a paycheck 🎊

🤎Scofield and his finals lease rider, Eliza C., also had a stunning handy portion in the 2ft6 Hunter Classic. They've only had three rides together, and they look like they've been together a lot longer than that! Look at that last jump!👀

We're feeling ready to put some excellent miles on our young equitation horse tomorrow and the young riders on Sunday! Wish us luck!🎉our

Thank you to our friends at Well-A-Way Farm for allowing us bring some young horses (and the most perfect Rolltide...nope, she is NEVER for sale😉) for another confidence-building field trip today. The jumps were beautiful as always!

Day 2 riders learned about the important of presentation. They learned how to properly polish their boots and took a stab at putting jumper braids in their horses' manes. This proved to be more challenging than they thought! Riders concluded by riding in a mock equitation flat class with a test including simple changes of leads and riding figure-8s. Overall, everyone concluded that details matter--whether you're fitting a bridle to a horse, choosing a jacket color, setting a course, or braiding a mane!!

Day 1 of our Horsemanship Clinic, riders learned how to properly walk and set a course of ground poles and cavalettis for strength training for their horses. Setting up exercises proved to be harder than it looked, with riders having to make adjustments and changes after riding their first plan. Riders also learned how to properly take apart and deep condition their tack. Looking forward to day 2 on Wednesday!
