CALIFORNIA GRAPPLERS SUMMER WRESTLING CAMP IS UNDERWAY, REGISTRATION REMAINS OPEN: There’s still plenty of summer left to get on the mat and improve your wrestling skills. Whether you’re a first-time wrestler looking to learn the fundamentals or an experienced athlete preparing for the upcoming season, California Grapplers has a place for you.

Beginner practices officially begin this Tuesday! If you’ve been thinking about joining, now is the perfect time to get started. No experience is necessary.

Northview Wrestling is excited to host the L.A.W.A. Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Northview High School in Covina.

This USA Wrestling sanctioned event is open to boys and girls in the 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, Junior and Open divisions and will feature Folkstyle, Freestyle and Greco-Roman competition.

Note: Second-session wrestlers may weigh in during the first session.

Tournament format will include Double Elimination and Round Robin brackets with medals awarded to the Top 3 finishers in each weight class.

All wrestlers must have a current USA Wrestling membership. Coaches must present a valid USA Wrestling Coaches Card.

This weekend the Northview Boys head to Las Vegas for the Vegas Foothill Duals to face strong competition from across the western United States. These trips are exactly why we fundraise, to provide our athletes with high-level competition, team bonding experiences and memories that last a lifetime.

The first week of summer camp is complete and we’re just getting started.

For the next 11 weeks, our focus remains the same: fundamentals, discipline, hard work and helping every wrestler improve.

This Sunday is Beach Day (Huntington Beach) and team workout. Check the BAND app for details.

We’ll return to practice Monday and our Beginner Program starts Tuesday. If you’ve been thinking about joining, there’s still plenty of summer left to get involved.

TODAY IS REGISTRATION DAY! The California Grapplers 2026 Summer Youth Wrestling Camp officially begins this week and we’re excited to welcome both returning wrestlers and families who are brand new to the sport.

Our summer camp runs June 2 through August 13 at the Northview High School Wrestling Room in Covina and is open to wrestlers from Kindergarten through 8th grade.

Camp Schedule:
Monday–Thursday
6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Beginner Class Starts Next Week Tuesday, June 9..If you’re new to wrestling, you’re welcome to register today and come check out practice this week. Our coaching staff will help place athletes with the appropriate training partners based on age, size, experience and skill level.

Whether your child is stepping onto the mat for the first time or preparing for the next level, our focus is on fundamentals, confidence, discipline and development.

Another great weekend for the California Grapplers Youth Wrestling Club. Congratulations to all of our state placers and to every wrestler who represented our club at Freestyle State. The results are a reflection of the dedication shown by our athletes, coaches and families throughout the season.

We’re excited to continue the journey this summer. Camp begins this Tuesday and runs through August 13. Registration is in person and practices are going to be Monday through Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Best of luck to our California Grapplers as they compete at the California Kids Freestyle State Championships this weekend. These athletes have put in the work all spring and we couldn’t be more proud of their dedication, effort and commitment. Represent us well and enjoy the experience.

Congratulations to Coach David Ochoa and the entire Northview Girls Wrestling coaching staff on being honored by the National Wrestling Coaches Association and the United States Marine Corps with the 2026 NWCA/USMC “Battles Won” Section 7 Coach of the Year and Assistant Coaching Staff of the Year recognition.

Coach Ochoa, now in his 47th year of coaching and 37th year leading Northview Wrestling, continues to set the standard for excellence, leadership and dedication to student-athletes. Alongside assistant coaches Roy Lazaro, Mike Duran, Steven De La Fuente, Daisy Garcia and Marcus Tolentino, this staff helped guide the Northview Girls team to a perfect 10-0 dual season, league, division and Masters championships, seven state qualifiers, five state medalists and a third-place team finish at the CIF State Championships.

More than wins and banners, this recognition reflects decades of sacrifice, mentorship, family and belief in the next generation. Thank you to all of our wrestlers, parents, alumni, supporters, CVUSD staff and the entire Northview Wrestling family for continuing to help build something special.

Our coaches will be recognized tonight at the Covina-Valley Unified School District Board Meeting at 6:30 PM at the Covina District Field.
