Consider for a moment the workings of a dance teacher or studio owner's mind - it's unlikely to be tidy or quiet. More akin to a computer with multiple tabs open and music streaming from an unknown source. Their mental to-do list might include responding to an email, planning a class, brainstorming ideas for the recital, checking in on a student's well-being, motivating a teacher, tracking down a prop, or embellishing a costume. Amidst these mundane tasks, however, they're also tuned into the emotional resonance of their work - the joy of a student who's finally mastered a step, the growth of a beginner, the bittersweet departure of a senior, and the trust placed in them by families. This dual focus is key to understanding their role. While they do run businesses and teach classes, their impact extends far beyond these tangible tasks. They're invested in the lives of their students, teachers, and the broader community. This might explain why their minds rarely shut off. For them, this isn't just a job - it's a calling that demands their whole heart and soul. If you know someone in this field who seems scattered or distracted, appreciate that they're carrying a unique burden - the collective needs of their studio, both tangible and intangible.

Every dance studio owner has their own journey, their own circumstances, and their own perspective.
But, there is one thing you can always count on from me. I will be running Patsy’s Dance Studio until the wheels fall off with everyone’s support.
I will always stand for the privately owned dance studio. The studio owner who believes in quality dance education. The owner who is building something with heart, purpose, and the hope that one day it may be passed on to the next generation.Maybe that next generation is someone in their family. Maybe it is a former student who grew up in the school. Maybe it is a teacher who has dedicated years of their life to the children, the families, and the mission of that studio.
That is the dance world I know.
Maybe I am old-fashioned, but I am going to hang on tight to what I believe. Dance education is not just another business to be bought, scaled, and sold.
Every dance studio has its own culture, its own personality, and its own way of making people feel like they belong. That is what attracts families to a studio. They are not just choosing classes. They are choosing the people, the philosophy, the energy, and the feeling they want their child to grow up around.
That kind of culture cannot be copied and pasted from one place to another. It grows over time through the owner’s values, the teachers’ hearts, the families who believe in it, and the children who walk through the doors year after year. It is an art form. It is children finding confidence. It is teachers changing lives. It is families trusting us with something precious.
And yes, dance studios should grow. They should evolve. They should be successful. They should be profitable. But they should also remain rooted in the people, the passion, and the purpose that built them in the first place.I believe in ownership with a face, my face, a name, my name, Patsy, a heart, my heart and a history of 42 recitals & ownership since 1983. That is the future I will keep believing in.
Dance education growing, evolving, and inspiring young people for generations to come. Have an awesome day and enjoy the journey. ✌💕

The 2025-2026 Patsy’s Dance Studio dance and tumbling season concluded with a highly successful 42nd annual recital “Let Your Dreams Grow Wild” at CMS on Saturday night, featuring students of various age groups, including very young children, elementary, middle school, and a high school senior, who all demonstrated exceptional bravery, confidence, and poise on stage after nine months of training. I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to all teachers for their tireless efforts throughout the past nine months. Our lead teachers, Chloe Hostetter and Hayley Meadows, were consistently present at the studio, particularly backstage on Saturday, where they ensured the smooth ex*****on of the event. Nikki Craig's dedication was evident in her ability to manage her own daughters while assisting her 2 classes as dance mom. Shayli Deacon, you did an outstanding job instructing the girls in gymnastics. Your dedication and expertise are truly commendable. To our dance moms, your support on Saturday night was invaluable, and I appreciate your contributions to the success of the event. After a month-long break to spend with family and friends, Hayley will return in July for Summer Dance Camp for ages 4-8 and a weekly dance class for ages 8 to 18. Registration is now open online at patsysdancestudio.com for these classes and the 2026-2027 Season of Dance and tumbling, including hip hop and clogging classes taught by Hannah Cvizic and Lexi Sparks, commencing in September. We are also pleased to announce that Chelsea Hall will teach the advanced tumbling class. We look forward to welcoming our students back in the Fall and expressing our appreciation for your continued support.
Thank you, Brandi Brown & Kennedy for doing the sound for dress rehearsal & recital on Saturday night. You did a fantastic job.
Register asap as our classes are filling fast & we want to have enough classes for anyone interested next season.

There is something so cool that happens in a dance studio, and if you have been around this life long enough, you have seen it many times.
A child walks in for the first time holding onto their parent with that look that says, “You are staying, right?” They are not sure about the teacher. They are not sure about the room. They are not sure about the other kids. And they are definitely not sure that this whole dance thing was a good idea.
So we take our time. We smile. We encourage. We do not rush it because we know that, for some children, just walking into the studio is already a really big deal.
And then, little by little, something changes.
The child who once cried at the door starts walking in on their own. They know where to put their dance bag. They walk in looking for the teacher’s smile instead of looking back for the parent. They find their friends. They start telling the parent what they learned instead of asking if they have to go.
And then one day, that same child walks into the studio like they own the place.
The parent is hoping for a hug or a wave, and the child is already halfway to class like, “I’ve got this.”
That is the kind of growth we should never take for granted. It may look small to someone else, but to that child, walking in without hesitation is a really big deal.
And to the parent watching it happen, it is huge.
Because confidence does not always arrive with a big announcement. Sometimes it shows up in a child who lets go of a parent’s hand. Sometimes it shows up in a child who walks in looking for the teacher. Sometimes it shows up in a child who stands a little taller because they know they belong.
That is why dance matters.
We are not only teaching children to move.
We are helping them become brave.
And that is a pretty amazing part of the journey. Have an awesome day and enjoy the journey.✌💕

Sometimes a parent signs their child up for dance because they are picturing a once-a-week dance lesson and maybe a tutu at the end of the year. They want their child to move, make friends, gain confidence, or have something that belongs to them.
And then something happens that the parent did not expect.
The studio becomes part of their life too.
They find themselves sitting in the lobby next to another parent who understands the rush from school to class. They start appreciating the other children. They cheer for dancers who are not their own. They begin to understand the teacher’s heart and the vibe of a place that slowly starts to feel familiar.
And somewhere along the journey, it is not just the child who found a place to belong.
The parent did too.
That is one of the coolest things about a dance studio. It is not only a place where children learn steps. It becomes a community. A place where families meet, friendships form, people support each other, and children grow up surrounded by adults who become part of their extended family.
So to the parents who walked through the door thinking this was just going to be a class for your child, thank you for becoming part of the journey.
You matter to the culture of the studio.
Your kindness matters.
Your encouragement matters.
The way you care for every child matters.
Because when a dance studio is at its best, it does more than teach children.
It brings people together. How cool is that?! Have an awesome day and enjoy the journey.✌💕
