From 4th grade dreams to college basketball reality. 💯🏀

These four young men started this journey together in the Louisiana Titans Basketball Academy years ago as kids with big dreams and a love for the game. As of Today, all four have officially signed to play college basketball. That’s not luck — that’s years of sacrifice, commitment, discipline, and belief.

What makes this story even more special is the parents. Every family trusted the process. Through early mornings, late nights, tournaments, workouts, losses, wins, long drives, and years of development, they stayed committed and believed in the vision. That trust mattered.

None of this happened overnight. These players earned this through hard work, perseverance, and staying dedicated when nobody was watching. They pushed each other, grew together, competed together, and now they get to celebrate together.

The Louisiana Titans Basketball Academy is proud of each one of them and proud of the example they set for the next generation. This is what happens when talent meets work ethic, support, and loyalty to the process.

My mind gets blown every single season at the begining of travel season. If you all do not realize yet that parents ruin their own children!!!!!! If I get one more call from a parent who has a child that didn't make a PUMA team saying "he doesn't want to play if he is not on the PUMA team his freinds are saying it's a waste of time". Don't waste your breathe or my time calling. I can promise you every single player on our 17U Puma team last season that you all see getting scholarships this season Played on YBOA teams even when they were on the PUMA teams. So again is your son looking for fun this summer and not looking to get better???? If that answer is yes WE are not for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who was the New Orleans area prep sports athlete of the week for March 9-14? Vote now. The past week in New Orleans area high school sports included several outstanding performances in many different sports.

I still remember coaching these three on the same team in 5th grade… probably the reason I’m bald today. 😂

I can promise you — they did NOT like me back then. They could never understand why winning a basketball game wasn’t the most important thing to me.

I’d bench them. Actually, two of them I benched… then two minutes later I told them to get off the bench and go sit in the bleachers. The refs literally stopped the game and said, “Coach, if they started the game and they aren’t hurt, you can’t make them leave the bench.”

I said, “Well, they won’t listen, and all they want to do is pout and argue. They aren’t sitting on my bench.”

The ref said, “Then you’re going to have to forfeit.”
I said, “OK, we forfeit.”

He looked at me and said, “Coach, their parents wouldn’t appreciate that.”

I laughed and said, “One is my real son and the other is basically my second son… I’m good.”

He laughed. We finished the game. And they both sat in the bleachers alone, pouting.

Looking back now, I wouldn’t change a thing. It was never about the scoreboard. It was about building young men.

Ok so I've been getting a ton of calls about what our cost is to play this season and what are the details. I'm listing answers to every question I've gotten so far. One big change this season is we are charging $1,000 per player and every player will be required to participate in a fundraiser this season. There will be no exceptions to the fundraiser. The PUMA teams schedules are listed below for high school and middle school. The high school Puma team will be playing the high school schedule Plus they will be playing in The Ron White Classic the end of March to get a tune up tournament before the high school season begins. The puma Middle school team will be playing the puma middle school schedule below plus each teams coach is going to add 4 events from the YBOA schedule below as well. Then all of our YBOA teams will play in a total of 9 YBOA tournaments on the YBOA schedule listed below. They will be playing in all 4 events listed in Mandeville. Our new director Coach Lee Love will be getting with each coach to determine the otner 5 events each team will play in. The YBOA teams will play in The YBOA national Championships in Winter Haven Flordia in July if they Qualify. The $1,000 fee and the fundraiser covers the uniform Cost, Tournament enter fees, training fees and coaches pay. Yes all of our coaches get paid. You will be responsible as a parent to cover all travel expenses as well as getting your players to and from the events. If your child does make a PUMA team we are required to book 5 rooms per team at the PUMA desiganated hotel. They are a stay to play circuit so we must book 5 rooms per team at every tournament.
