JFK Demo Team: Mandatory practice will be held Saturday, 9/26 at 1:00 PM. If you do not attend this practice, you will not be able to perform in the Fair demonstration.

Year-Round Uniform Options:
Traditional white uniform
Any official JFK Anniversary shirt (must include the anniversary number on the front — this year’s shirt features the number 9)
Fridays & Summer Attire:
On Fridays and during the summer season (May 1 through Labor Day), students may wear any official JFK shirt paired with JFK pants.
Special Event Shirts:
Throughout the year, we designate specific months for themed JFK event shirts. These shirts must be pre-ordered when they are made available in the app.
March/April – Inclusion Acceptance
September/October – Breast Cancer Awareness
November/December – Veterans Salute to Service
Please note that students are not permitted to wear non-JFK shirts in class. The only exception is Ainsley’s Angels shirts, as we proudly support this local inclusive racing organization.
The STAR CARD is a durable plastic card that displays each student’s “Good Job” stars. Stars are awarded in class and placed directly on the card as stickers. The card conveniently attaches to your student’s gear bag so they can proudly track their progress and achievements.
Star Progression (Color-Coded System):
1st Level – 25 Blue Stars
2nd Level – 25 Green Stars
3rd Level – 25 Red Stars
4th Level – 25 Silver Stars
5th Level – 25 Gold Stars
6th Level – 25 Black Stars

SEWING: We have someone to sew for us, Alex’s grandma. Cost is: $2 per patch & .50 cents per star. Exact Cash amount only & no change will be returned. Uniform must be in a sealed zip lock with money inside and name on bag, leave bag on front counter. Pick up items from the shoe cubby. Expect a one week turnaround.
Belt Stripe Requirements
Yellow Stripe – Earned when the student sets a personal training goal for the cycle.
First Black Stripe – Awarded for correctly following instructor directions and completing four classes.
Second Black Stripe – Earned once the student has memorized the new form and completed six classes.
Blue Stripe – Awarded to students who consistently demonstrate a Black Belt Attitude at home for four consecutive weeks and have completed eight classes.
Red Stripe – Indicates the student is registered for the next belt testing.
Third Black Stripe – Earned when the student can successfully perform all required belt testing material.
Black Belt Midterms
Black Belt Recommended
• Minimum 6 months training
• Must complete 2 midterms before being eligible to test for 1st Degree Black Belt
1st Degree Black Belt – Decided
• Minimum age: 8 years old
• Must complete 11 midterms
• Minimum 2 years of training before testing
2nd Degree Black Belt – Decided
• Minimum age: 10 years old
• Minimum 2 years of training as a 1st Degree
• Must complete 11 midterms before testing
3rd Degree Black Belt – Decided
• Minimum age: 13 years old
• Minimum 3 years of training as a 2nd Degree
• Must complete 9 midterms before testing for 4th Degree at a national testing
What the color of our boards mean: the darker the color, the harder to break
White - for ages 6 and younger
Orange - for ages 6 to 8 yrs old
Green - for ages 8-12 yrs old
Blue - for ages 13+ yrs, female adults
Brown - for adult males
Black - for really tough martial artists & great board holders
