Travers Benoit

Travers has played 1st base for the Fighting Lions while wearing #21. He is a four-year member of the baseball and football teams and a band member. Everyone is extremely proud of Travers for maintaining a 4.2 gpa and being part of the FFA and National Honor Society. Attending Southeastern Louisiana University in the fall, Travers will study fitness and human performances.

alsoBen Fernandez

Feeling right at home behind the plate, Ben proudly wears #19. He has been a catcher for the Fighting Lions for four years. Ben was also chosen to be a member of the First All District and All Parish baseball teams. He has been enrolled in all honors classes and has maintained a 3.5 gpa during his time at CHS. Wanting to become a physical therapist, Ben will major in kinesiology at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond.

Jordan Modica

Jordan, wearing #11, has played the outfield as a four-year member of the Fighting Lions. Along with his time at baseball, Jordan has played three years of football and is member of the Fellowship Christian Athletes. Northshore Technical College is where Jordan will be attending in the fall to study diesel equipment technology.

Josh Barletter

Josh being a four-year member of the Fighting Lions proudly wears #4. He enjoys playing 3rd base and left field. While maintaining a 4.2 gpa, he is a member of the National Honor Society and was recently awarded Student of the Month. In the fall, Josh will continue his career as a member of the Centenary Gents at Centenary College. He will major in kinesiology.

Tyler Wolfe

Tyler wears #3 while he is pitching and playing outfield. He is a four-year varsity member of the Fighting Lions and member of the National Honor Society. He has maintained a 4.2 gpa, as well. Tyler has been chosen to be a player on the First Team All-District, All-Parish and All-Metro. Tyler has earned a baseball scholarship where he will continue his passion for the sport at Copiah Lincoln Community College. He will be majoring in architecture.

Alex Cuevas

Alex, wearing #2 and playing right field, is a four-year member of the Fighting Lions. He is an honor student as well as a member of the National Honor Society and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. One of his many accomplishments while maintaining a 4.3 gpa includes being recognized by the LHSAA during his senior year as a All-Academic Scholar Athlete. In the fall, Alex plans to attend Louisiana State University and study industrial engineering.

Travers Benoit drives in 5 runs as Covington blanks Northshore, 8-0 Covington first baseman Travers Benoit stood at the plate with two strikes and two runners on base against Northshore ace Cole Randazzo Thursday afternoon.

UPDATE....

Today's JV games have been cancelled with the incoming weather. Boys are tarping the field as we speak to save the field for tomorrow.

JV will play tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.

Tarp pull will begin at 11:30 a.m....everyone better eat their Wheaties!
