Working on manners and building trust every day! 🐴✨

Some of our rescue horses come in needing a little extra patience and guidance to feel comfortable around new people. Here’s a quick look at today's training session with new sanctuary herd members Choice and Zara. Yep you saw that right a simple snack already has them meeting me at the fence every time they see me and getting more comfortable with my presence so they can begin trusting me when actual work begins.

Rehab isn't just physical—mental healing takes time too, but seeing their progress makes every second worth it!

🌾 HAY CHALLENGE: Can we find 86 heroes today? 🌾

Right now, we owe our hay supplier $360. We have just 11 bales of hay left to feed the rescue horses for the rest of the month. To buy the next batch of hay and pay for delivery, we need a total of $855.

We found a new supplier in Laona who can deliver to us! But because of shipping costs and market changes, prices are going up.

Each bale is now $50 plus delivery fees.But we can do this together!

Another project completed!! With Skittles supervision of course 😂

Leanto removed, new shelter up, and all of the roundpen panels went on Zara and Choice 's pen yesterday as this pen was no longer needed after Raven left because Luna went in with Cinder and Belle. Also put some new wood on Zara and Choice 's shelter. Still have to replace the roof however.

Doing everything alone doesn't mean it doesn't get done it's just a super slow process unfortunately. Thankfully Tina helped build the new shelterlogic shelter yesterday.

Choice is a sasshole (went to start depcikering his tail and I got an ear pinny tail swishing response and that's a big no no around here).... unfortunately both horses appear to be needing some basic manners installed for general handling. So they will be added to our training schedule after the next couple of days. They have settled in nicely otherwise.

Sugarlands Riding Stables in Gatlinburg I think you have some explaining to do!!! Horses with open wounds from miles in ill fitting saddles!! Not just one horse but multiple because they are also underweight!!! Have these horses seen a vet??? Or are you just treating them with over the counter cream??? Are they still being used on your trail string with open wounds????

We were sent these pictures and videos from an anonymous source!!! Let's get this out there folks!!!! Something needs to be done asap!!

We did contact animal control in their county so this can be investigated.

They did state they aren't riding these horses however they also stated all of the sores are new and since these animals are in less than stellar condition hence the reason for the sores to begin with i honestly don't believe it plus they absolutely refused to post full body conditions of the three horses shown which tells us they absolutely have something to hide!! We contacted our anonymous source asking for the specific names of these horses and will be sending photos and videos of them to animal control so they cannot hide them away!!!
