First Pilates class in the books and I absolutely loved every single second of it!
Discovering that chill part of myself has been such a liberating experience. I get to slow down and really connect with the people I’m teaching.
Also, I have a pretty awesome support system from a fantastic trainer, 🙂 Thanks for joining me today friend!

Taking some nice, quiet time tonight to put the finishing touches on the Pilates class I’m teaching tomorrow.
If you’re looking to take my first ever Les Mills Pilates class, hit me up! I’ll be at the Cranston Edge on Friday at 8:30am!
Finding some strong, calm, and happy.

A shout out to my fellow group fitness instructors! What so many people don’t realize about our jobs happens behind the scenes.
1. The work doesn’t take place in the hour we teach. Hours are spent off the clock structuring routines and learning choreography
2. Coaching twenty people at once is a challenge! We give cues for everyone, and connect with people beyond just words. Eye contact and a smile and praise means a lot.
3. Many of us do our own workouts outside of teaching our classes!
So give your group fitness friends a shoutout.

Strong. Calm. Happy. Exactly how I’m feeling now that I’ve passed my Les Mills Pilates certification!
This was extremely far out of my comfort zone. I move and speak with such intensity and strive for perfection with all other formats that I teach. Now? I’m learning to go with the flow and relax. I’m learning to be fluid in my motion and flexible in my thinking.
A huge thank you to an amazing trainer, , for validating the difficulty in slowing down and helping to teach me how to find that calm demeanor. And thank you for always being my champion and being my role model. 😁

Taking a huge step out of my comfort zone and training for Pilates tomorrow. Finding my inner zen 🧘 when I have no chill.
The structure isn’t rigid. It’s fluid and flow-y.
May the odds be ever in my favor.

After an amazing 1RM last week (330 #!) and some feedback from some pretty awesome people on Threads, I’ve come to two conclusions about my deadlift.
1️⃣ I’m a hell if a lot stronger than I give myself credit for
2️⃣ I can lift a lot more in my working sets
So, here’s to always putting a bit more on the bar than I think I need in 2025!

P’tit turned 2 today! And he’ll never cease to amaze me. You’re brilliant. And mischievous in a way that you certainly didn’t get from your parents…
Happy Birthday kiddo! Maybe this year our goal can be to eat something that’s not goldfish 😏

🦠 No climb for this weekend as the rest of my family fights off this stomach virus. So I figured I’d add the relevant upper back work today instead.
I decided to do a circuit today and give my body an extra rest day tomorrow. It’s nice to decrease the load and change focus on the workout.
Sometimes there is such a heavy emphasis on goal-oriented training with Personal Trainers. And it’s effective! But something else to consider that sometimes the goal isn’t exercise-related at all.
Sometimes it’s survival.
That was my goal today. And it worked.

Getting my 💩 together is always a task. Anyone who knows me probably doesn’t realize how much effort it takes me to function.
So…how do I do it?
Believe it or not, this board here is keeping it simple for me.
I write the dates that I do things. My first time through a workout sequence, I write the exercises down, and then I don’t change it for 6 weeks.
I don’t have an elaborate plan. I have the basics programmed, and I go from there. There’s no pressure to document all of the weight and the sets.
This works for me particularly well when the seasonal depresh stacks with my normal depresh, and my goal is simply to move.
So, how can you simplify your routine to make sure you move?
