Week 3: Strength. Stability. Resilience.
Today’s session was built around one goal: developing athletes who can stay strong, powerful, and composed from the first whistle to the last.
Push Press (5×3): Heavy push presses develop explosive power from the ground through the upper body. Learning to generate force quickly helps athletes become more powerful while improving shoulder strength and stability for physical play.
600m Run: Builds aerobic capacity and the ability to recover between high-intensity efforts so athletes can continue making explosive plays throughout an entire match.
Single-Arm Overhead Carry + Wall Sit: While one partner stabilized a weight overhead, the other held a wall sit. The overhead carry develops shoulder stability, core strength, posture, and balance by forcing the body to resist rotation. The wall sit builds muscular endurance in the legs, teaching athletes to stay strong and maintain good positioning even when fatigue sets in.
Single-Leg Squats: Soccer is played one leg at a time. This movement improves balance, knee stability, coordination, and unilateral strength, helping athletes accelerate, decelerate, and change direction more efficiently while reducing injury risk.
Kettlebell Deadlifts: Strengthen the glutes, hamstrings, and posterior chain the engine behind sprinting, jumping, and explosive acceleration.
Planks: A strong core is the foundation of every athletic movement. Planks improve trunk stability, posture, and the ability to transfer force between the upper and lower body while helping reduce injury risk.
Every session has a purpose. We aren’t just training harder we’re training smarter so these athletes perform at their best when the game is on the line.
Every exercise has a purpose.
Today’s Bayside Performance session wasn’t about making athletes tired it was about making them better soccer players.
Heavy Back Squats build the strength needed to sprint faster, jump higher, and win physical battles.
Broad Jumps teach athletes to turn that strength into explosive power.
200m Sprints develop the ability to make repeated high-intensity runs throughout an entire match.
Reverse Lunges build single-leg strength, balance, and stability essential for sprinting, cutting, and changing direction.
Box Jumps improve explosiveness while teaching athletes how to land safely and efficiently.
Heavy Kettlebell Swings develop powerful hips the engine behind speed and acceleration.
Farmer’s Carry + Sprint challenges total-body strength, core stability, and the ability to explode into a sprint while fatigued.
Great athletes don’t just train hard they train with purpose. Every movement today was chosen to build stronger, faster, more resilient soccer players.
At Ironclad Fitness Center, we don’t just make young athletes sweat we prepare them for the demands of competition.
400m Sprint → Goblet Squats: We train strength under fatigue because games aren’t played when you’re fresh.
Overhead Carries: Develop shoulder stability, core strength, posture, and total-body control while helping reduce injury risk.
Box Jumps: Build explosive power, improve landing mechanics, and teach athletes how to safely absorb force.
Shoulder-to-Overhead: Develop total-body power by transferring force from the ground through the hips, core, and upper body.
Plyometrics & Sprints: Improve acceleration, speed, explosiveness, and the ability to react faster in competition.
Every rep has a purpose. Every drill transfers to the field.
We’re not just building stronger athletes we’re building athletes who move better, stay healthier, and perform when it matters most.
Train with purpose. Compete with confidence. More to come next week so stay tuned!
