Did you know?
At the Boys & Girls Club of Ashley County, we believe academic success starts with having the right support system. That’s why our Homework & Tutoring Programs, like Project Learn and Power Hour, are designed to help members stay on track, build good study habits, and feel confident in the classroom.
Enrolled members receive academic support Monday–Thursday, including:
- Certified Teacher Tutoring: We are proud to have Mrs. Tammy Parrott, a certified teacher, provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring for enrolled members every Monday and Wednesday from 4:00–6:00 PM.
- Homework Support: Dedicated staff work with members to complete their homework and ensure assignments are finished.
- Folder & Assignment Checks: We check members’ folders and assignments to help ensure they aren’t missing important work.
- Accountability: Completed homework is reviewed and signed off on by staff so parents know their child’s work has been addressed.
- Progress Monitoring: We review progress reports and monitor academic performance to identify areas where a member may need additional support.
- School Communication: When needed, we reach out to teachers to better understand a member’s needs and work together to help them succeed.
Our goal isn’t simply to get homework finished—we want to help our members become better students by developing responsibility, organization, confidence, and the skills needed to succeed both inside and outside the classroom. When a child succeeds academically, we celebrate that success right alongside them.
