We've had several folks ask why NSD does not hold online raffles.

The simple answer is that National Sporting Dog, Inc. is a legitimate business, and online raffles are not something a business can simply run to raise money. In most cases, raffles and games of chance are considered regulated gambling unless they meet very specific legal requirements.

Those requirements often apply to qualified nonprofit or charitable organizations, not regular businesses. Since NSD is operated as a business, we do not use illegal raffles or games of chance to fund our operations.

We understand raffles may look like an easy way to raise money, but doing things the wrong way can create legal issues for the business and the people involved. For that reason, NSD chooses to fund operations through the services and programs we provide, including registrations, licenses, events, and other NSD offerings.

To complete an Online Litter Registration, the Sire and Dam must already be registered and in the NSD system.

NSD has also made the process faster across other services, with Breeder Licenses, Handler Licenses, and SQ Series Enrollments instantly issued through their own digital systems.

***COMP HUNTERS***

NSD is excited to introduce our new Hunt Management System, available for Hunt Directors to use this fall!

This system gives Hunt Directors the option to manage hunts more efficiently while giving handlers a better experience from start to finish. Handlers will be able to self sign up from their mobile devices, view cast draws immediately, follow live hunt brackets, and see instant placements after each round.

Cast draws will be conducted directly by the system and made available right away on each handler’s mobile device. Hunt Directors are currently using the system in training mode, and it will be ready for official use this fall.

NSD is making big changes and continuing to innovate the sport of Competition Squirrel Hunting.

There are currently 27 samples that have been received by the lab which are being processed. Some of these samples have been there for 10 or 11 days so I called to check the status. The lab is backed up due to the Holiday and a couple of lab employees being out. I have added a list below of the dogs that are at the lab and as soon as their profiles are completed we will get the paperwork finished on our end and in the mail.

Tier 2 members receive 25 views per day on the NSD Online Pedigree System, giving you expanded access to research pedigrees and review important breeding information.

Shared Dogs

TIER 1 members can view dogs that have been shared with them by another NSD member.

Dog sharing is controlled by the dog’s owner. Owners with a paid membership can choose to share one or more of their dogs with other members.

When a dog is shared with a free TIER 1 member, that member can view the dog’s basic information, including the dog’s profile, points, earnings, titles summary, and online pedigree.

Shared dog access is view-only. Free TIER 1 members cannot edit the dog’s information, update records, or make ownership changes.
