Heaven and Earth Dojo

Part of "self defense" or a more fitting term "Life Protection Arts" is trying to live at least a moderately healthy lifestyle. Avoiding poor eating habits, to***co, excessive alcohol consumption, and unnecessary pharmaceutical drugs is a large part of this along with regular exercise. There's a larger chance of your bad habits killing you than any attacker. When the next lab created pandemic comes along, don't have one foot in the grave already.

It's been over a year since my last post. Between Charla's passing and COVID-19, I haven't taught any seminars or classes since 2019, but hopefully that will change soon. I am in the process of moving back to Knoxville to help care for my mother. Once I figure out my employment situation, I intend to start a small class of serious students that are interested in my approach to Isshin-Ryu Karate and other arts as well. Stay tuned.

It is nice to be able to walk from home, across the field to the dojo.

I am saddened to hear the news of the passing of Master Louis Grinnell. He was a mentor, my friend, and greatly influenced the direction of my personal martial arts journey.

I live in Crossville now. I train and teach a bit at MC & Ruthie Deck's Misfits Isshin-Ryu dojo. If you are in the area, give me a shout.
