When CJ first walked through our doors 4-5 months ago, he didn't know much about strength training. Like many young athletes, he was starting from square one!! ๐ซต
What stood out immediately wasn't his experience levelโit was his willingness to learn!! ๐
Since day one, CJ has shown a level of commitment that is rare for someone his age. Whether he has to get a ride, walk, or hop on his bike, he always finds a way to get to the gym. No excuses. No shortcuts. Just consistent effort!! โ
As a 15-year-old soccer player heading into his sophomore year at Holy Ghost Prep, CJ understands that success isn't built overnight. It's built through showing up day after day, putting in the work when nobody is watching, and trusting the process!! โฝ๏ธ
Over the past several months, we've watched him grow not only as an athlete, but as a young man. His confidence has improved, his strength has increased, and his work ethic continues to set the standard!! ๐ฅ

๐ฅ Swiss Ball Leg Curls with Coach Nick ๐ฅ
โKeep the hips up, curl in, hold, then back out... and have fun!!โ ๐
Simple instructions, but this exercise packs a serious punch!! ๐
The Swiss Ball Leg Curl is a great movement for building stronger hamstrings, glutes, and core stability all at the same time. The key is keeping your hips elevated throughout the entire movement. As you curl the ball toward your body, squeeze those hamstrings, pause for a second at the top, then slowly extend back out under control!! โ
Itโs not about racing through reps. It's about maintaining control, staying engaged, and making every repetition count!! ๐
If you're looking to improve lower body strength, reduce injury risk, and build a stronger foundation for everyday movement, this is an exercise worth adding to your routine!! ๐ซต

Today we're celebrating an incredible accomplishmentโLydia has officially reached 200 workouts at NFSS!! ๐
Two hundred workouts represent far more than just a number on a board. They represent dedication, consistency, perseverance, and a commitment to becoming stronger each and every day!! โ
Over the course of 200 workouts, Lydia has continued to show up, put in the work, and trust the process. She has embraced challenges, pushed through difficult workouts, and proven that real progress comes from staying consistent over time!! ๐

Some exercises are all about strength. Others are all about control. The Single Leg Deadlift requires both!! ๐
In todayโs micโd up session, Coach Nick is working with Alicia and Lydia on one of the best exercises for improving balance, stability, coordination, and lower body strength!! ๐ค
While it may look simple from the outside, anyone who has tried a single leg deadlift knows that staying balanced is often the hardest part!! ๐ซต
This movement challenges your glutes, hamstrings, core, and even the smaller stabilizing muscles that don't always get the spotlight. It forces you to slow down, focus on your body position, and find your "inner zen" while maintaining control throughout the entire movement!! ๐ง
One of the things we emphasize at NFSS is that progress isn't always about lifting heavier weights. Sometimes it's about improving your movement quality, body awareness, and confidence in exercises that challenge you in a completely different way!! โ
Alicia and Lydia did an awesome job staying patient, listening to the coaching cues, and working through the challenge. That's what real progress looks likeโshowing up, learning something new, and getting a little better every session!! ๐
