**Race Update: We're Racing! 🏊🚴🏃**

After closely monitoring the air quality throughout the week in coordination with Crystal Lake Fire Department, the Crystal Lake Aquathon will proceed as scheduled on Sunday.

We recognize that every athlete has different health considerations and comfort levels. We encourage you to make the decision that is best for you. If you'd like to shorten your race distance (Olympic --> Sprint or 2-mile --> 1-mile swim), we're happy to accommodate those changes.

As a reminder, the Crystal Lake Aquathon is a fundraiser benefiting . Because every registration directly supports this mission, we are unable to offer refunds. If you decide not to participate due to the air quality, we'd be happy to offer you a discount toward next year's event.

Thank you for your understanding, flexibility, and—most importantly—for supporting Girls on the Run. We can't wait to see everyone who joins us on Sunday! 💙

Swim and Run Course Maps for 2026 Race Day! Many thanks to the City of Crystal Lake, IL for completing beautiful Lake Loop. You all will be the first to race on this new trail!

Current water temp is 82 degrees (no wetsuits will be allowed if the temperature stays here)

We're closely monitoring the air quality ahead of Sunday's Crystal Lake Aquathon in coordination with Chief Craig Snyder of the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department. Your safety is our top priority, and we'll continue evaluating conditions as race day approaches.

If you'd like to participate but shorten your distance (Olympic ➡️ Sprint Distance or 2-Mile Swim➡️ 1-Mile Swim), we're happy to accommodate you. If you choose not to race due to air quality concerns, please know that as this is a fundraiser for Girls on the Run Northwest Illinois, we cannot offer refunds—but we are happy to provide a discount toward next year's event.

Please note that packet pick up is ONLY on Sunday, July 19th at Three Oaks Recreation Area from 6:00am-7:00am. All racers must be checked in by 7:00am. Kids Race packet pick up is from 8:00am-8:45am and all kids race participants must be checked in by 8:45am. See you Sunday!

The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department does not allow wetsuits when the water temp is above 77 degrees. Current water temps are 78 degrees so please plan accordingly. We will post water temps again on Friday (2 days before race day).
