Cullman Amateur Radio Club The Cullman Amateur Radio Club is an ARRL affiliated, Special Service club formed for the purpose of promoting amateur radio in our community.

The Cullman Amateur Radio Club of Cullman, Alabama with the callsign N4TUN, is an ARRL affiliated, Special Service club formed for the purpose of promoting amateur radio in our community. The Club offers many avenues for your amateur radio enjoyment and growth. We actively support the Cullman Emergency Management Agency and Skywarn as well as several community service agencies. The Club meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month beginning at 7PM at the Cullman County Commission On Aging Bldg, located on Sportsman Lake Road, just off Highway 31 North. Guests are always welcome! The Club additionally offers a testing session, conducted on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7PM, also at the Commission On Aging Bldg. All levels of tests are provided.

Another well attended meeting last night. For the ones who couldn't attend we discussed some up coming events. The club will have a float in the Cullman Fair Parade on September 26th. Information on times and meet-up location to ride the float will be posted here and anounced on the Sunday net. The club will be helping with communication support at the Spooktacular Storybook Sprint 5K on October 24th.

Then we had Show and Tell multiple radios, antennas and mystery boxes were shown. There were even 2 members of the Brass Knuckle Gang.

Next club meeting is October 20th we hope to see you there. Test night on October 8th.

Ever herd of a Traffic Net? Alabama Traffic Net Mike takes place every night at 6:00pm on 3.965 MHz on the 80m band.

A Traffic Net is an organized amateur radio meeting on the air specifically designed to relay written messages (called written traffic or ARRL Radiograms) from one location to another.

Historically, this was how hams sent text messages long before cell phones and the internet. Today, traffic nets serve as vital training for disaster response and emergency communications, ensuring operators know how to pass critical information accurately when grid infrastructure fails.
