As our 3rd summer season comes to an end, I can honestly say I’m extremely proud of what we accomplished this summer. But let me make one thing clear…
WE ARE JUST GETTING STARTED. 🔥
This has been one of the best summers yet for VA STARS Basketball. Not because of how many tournaments we won, but because I watched EVERY KID GET BETTER.
From learning how to dribble…�To shooting with confidence…�To making that layup the RIGHT way…�To stepping on the court believing they belong…
THE GROWTH WAS REAL. 💯
My motto has never been about simply winning every tournament. It’s about development. It’s about improvement. It’s about being better than you were the year before.
If you trained with us last offseason, I want to see that work show up on the court.
And if you walked through our doors never having played basketball before? Our job is to build you up, teach you, push you, and give you the confidence to discover what YOU can do.
That’s what VA STARS is about.
And let me tell you something…
THE EXPECTATIONS ARE NOT GETTING LOWER. THEY’RE GETTING HIGHER. 🚀
As this program continues to grow, I refuse to sit back and say, “This was our best season.”
NOPE.
WE AIM HIGHER. WE WORK HARDER. WE EXPECT MORE.
That’s the standard our coaches have.�That’s the standard our parents have.�And most importantly, that’s the standard we’re building into these kids.
This summer, I asked one thing from our players:
COMPETE.
I didn’t care if we won or lost.�I wanted them to compete at a HIGH LEVEL every single time they stepped on that floor.
And this summer, our kids took that challenge personally. They pushed themselves to another level, and as a coach, THAT makes me proud.
🏆 12U ranked TOP 5 by BIG TIME HOOPS�🏆 12U NATIONAL CHAMPIONS - IN YEAR 3!�🏆 5th Grade (2033): 2 Tournament Championships �🏆 6th Grade (2032): 6 Tournament Championships + 1 x NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP�🥈 8th Grade (2030): 2 x 2nd Place Runner Ups
And the wins are great…
BUT THE DEVELOPMENT IS THE REAL TROPHY.
This summer also gave VA STARS the opportunity to meet incredible people, build relationships, and connect with organizations that believe in what we’re doing and where we’re going.
But being a part of VA STARS is about MORE THAN BASKETBALL.
This summer, our players also had the opportunity to participate in COMMUNITY SERVICE, giving back and helping people in our community. 🙏🏾❤️
That is something I’m extremely proud of because I want these kids to understand that being a leader isn't just about what you can do on the basketball court.
IT’S ABOUT WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR OTHER PEOPLE.
We want our players to learn how to compete, how to work, how to lead, and how to SERVE.
Giving back to our community and helping people is something we want to continue making a major part of the VA STARS program.
And trust me…
WE’RE JUST GETTING STARTED.
I’m looking forward to creating even more opportunities for our players to give back, serve our community, and make a positive impact on the people around us.
Because at VA STARS, we aren't just trying to build better basketball players.

And I have to give a special shoutout to our 6th Grade Class of 2032.
Some of these kids have been with me since the very beginning of VA STARS. To our new group of kids, Thank You for all the hard work!
They believed in me.�They believed in the process.�They stayed loyal through the hard coaching.�They kept showing up.
And now they are NATIONAL CHAMPIONS. 🏆🔥
That moment means more than a trophy.
It represents TIME. WORK. SACRIFICE. TRUST. AND BELIEF.
I’m extremely proud of every one of them.
To the 8th Grade Class of 2030, you finished the summer placing 2nd in your final tournament. Keep building. Keep working. Your next chapter is coming. 💪🏾
To the 5th Grade Class of 2033, finishing 4-1 and winning a championship is a great way to close the summer. Keep stacking those days. 🏆
To the 6th Grade Class of 2032…
5-0. NATIONAL CHAMPIONS.
I’ll just leave that right there. 😤🏆
But understand this…
THE EXPECTATIONS ONLY GET HARDER.
The competition is going to get tougher.
The pressure is going to increase.
The levels are going to rise.
BUT THE WORK?
The work is going to get easier because we’ve already built the habits.
We’re not running from the next level.
WE’RE COMING FOR IT. 🗣️🔥
Fall season is next, and VA STARS will be competing at higher levels, facing tougher competition, and continuing to develop these players INDIVIDUALLY AND AS A TEAM.
Year 3 is in the books.
THE STANDARD HAS BEEN SET.
Now…
