Hollywood United Football Club Hollywood United is an American amateur soccer team based in Los Angeles, California, United States.

THE STORY:
The Hollywood United Football Club was founded in the 1980s by a group of British expatriates who frequented the Cat & Fiddle, an English-style pub on Sunset Boulevard in the heart of Hollywood. Playing the “beautiful game” in the morning and enjoying a pint at the pub in the afternoon became the perfect way to spend Sundays in Southern California. The ex-pats came to enhance their entertainment career in Hollywood. But whether their careers were in music, TV or movies, they all had one thing in common, an unyielding passion for the game. Word eventually spread throughout the entertainment world about the club and its players. years ago the Hollywood United Football Club has grown into what it is today; a star-studded world famous soccer club. Hollywood United basically had one team that competed in different Sunday leagues around Los Angeles including the Los Angeles Metro League and the Glendale League. It was loosely organized and was roughly the same 20 players that played in all games. The first celebrities to turn out for the club included Steve Jones (S*x Pistols), Billy Duffy and Ian Astbury (The Cult), Vivian Campbell (Def Leppard) Robbie Williams, and other celebs. Our sports and entertainment personalities are bonded by their passion for soccer and their desire to help the world become a better place. HUFC recognizes that many of its members are famous and this provides a means by which we can help those less fortunate both in our community and throughout the world. Hollywood United Football Club is able to leverage its unique position in the soccer world to provide hope by sharing our love of the game in charity events.

Yesterday, HUFC blew out Real Santa Monica 10-2 in a first half display of force. 8 goals by halftime. 2nd half was a little sloppy as a dominant ground game gave way to some unnecessary single player heroics and long balls to nowhere. We always need to remember that team and individual discipline will carry this club a long way against strong and weaker teams alike.
Shout out to Andrew Molina & Nicky Hollender for stepping in for an absent Tate. The club is all the stronger still for players taking ownership of it's success and organization.

Next game is Monday Nov 4th against SM Firebird FC who have struggled so far in this league. HUFC will continue to look for dominant ball possession and a high GF/GA differential.

HUFC defeats Penmar 2-1 in game 4 of the LAPL season XXI. HUFC is now undefeated 4-0, a fantastic start to this new season. Goals from Ben "Sauce" Kay and Mehdi "GoldenBoots" Selmi. And assists from Adam Piotrowski and Peter Zoppi.

Tremendous defensive work from our back four, Penmar was dangerous through the middle but simply could not break into our final third with much danger at all. Aside from a worldy upper v goal in the opening 10 minutes, we held Penmar to their lowest GF this season. Great showing from everyone.

Next game is Sunday Oct. 27th vs. Real Santa Monica.
