FOCO Bananas 14U Surge Past Alpha One Crosby 14U Thanks To Big Third Inning
FOCO Bananas 14U scored nine runs in the third inning, which helped them defeat Alpha One Crosby 14U 15-1 on Wednesday. Jacob Wright singled, scoring one run, Hunter Campbell singled, scoring one run, Evan Harrington singled, scoring one run, Kason Marinier induced Liam Calhoun to hit into a fielder's choice, but two runs scored, Ryan Grimes singled, scoring two runs, and a passed ball scored two runs.
Braden Morris singled on a full count, which helped FOCO Bananas 14U tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
FOCO Bananas 14U flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring five runs on two hits to take a 6-1 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Nolan Nickless that drove in two.
Ryland Head stepped on the mound first for FOCO Bananas 14U. The righty surrendered two hits and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out five and walking two. James Bumgarner led things off on the hill for Alpha One Crosby 14U. The righty surrendered four hits and seven runs (two earned) over two innings, striking out one and walking three. Hudson Jalutkewicz threw one inning of shutout ball for FOCO Bananas 14U in relief. They allowed zero hits, striking out two and walking none.
Grimes, Calhoun, and Nickless each drove in two runs for FOCO Bananas 14U. Head paced FOCO Bananas 14U with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. FOCO Bananas 14U were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Campbell had the most chances in the field with seven.
