Today was a very special day! 🥋🇧🇷

I had the honor of teaching a tactical jiu-jitsu class at the BOPE unit in Pernambuco (PMPE), sharing some of the techniques we use in U.S. law enforcement in the state of Georgia.
For 7 years, I’ve served my community in Forsyth County and the city of Cu***ng, where I live.

I have great admiration for these warriors, highly trained and ready to ensure the safety of the state. Defending life is a mission that demands skill, courage, and deep respect.

Thank God, and thank you, Jiu-Jitsu, for opening so many doors in my life and allowing me to meet and connect with so many people over all these years. 🙏

Most people will only see the beginning or the highlights. We see the journey. maddox has been with us for the journey and served along the way. Rolling, learning, and coaching the kids. He’s going to college in the Fall and we couldn’t think of a better representation of our school.

The voice of FIFA’s Atlanta World Cup games but we know him as…

Professor Charlie.

Years of dedication, support, and hard work that gave this man another stripe on his black belt this summer.

Congrats Professor.

This is what it’s all about.

Belt graduation day at Ascension MMA.

Watch these faces. The emotion when the belt is tied. The hugs from family. The handshakes from teammates. The pride that can’t be faked.

Every promotion in this reel represents something deeper than a new belt color.

It represents showing up when life was busy. Training through doubt. Trusting the process when progress felt invisible. Choosing the mats over and over again.

To every athlete promoted this weekend - you didn’t just earn a new belt. You proved something to yourself that nobody can take away.

To every family who came to celebrate - thank you. You’re part of this journey too.

This is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. This is Ascension. 🥋

Congratulations to all of our graduates. OSS 🙏

🔥 What a night at Ascension MMA 🔥

Training was absolutely FIRE tonight, and we were blessed to have a very special guest on the mats.
Professor Josh Larson, aka Gi Josh, is in the building! 🥋

He’s here for this Saturday’s Belt Graduation Ceremony, and not only will we be celebrating our amazing students leveling up, but Professor Josh will also be receiving his 1st Degree on his Black Belt! 🖤⭐ That is a HUGE milestone and he has more than earned it. We are so honored to share that moment with him.

This Saturday is going to be a special one. 🙌

We hope to see ALL of you there! 👊

🥋 BELT GRADUATION DAY IS ALMOST HERE! 🥋
This Saturday, June 6th, we celebrate some of our hardest working students at Ascension MMA 🏆
New belts. New ranks. New chapters🚀

We only hold 2 belt graduations per year, which means every single promotion earned on that mat is the result of months of dedication, sometimes years of sacrifice, and showing up even when it was hard.
This Saturday, that work gets recognized 💯
Come celebrate with us and cheer on your teammates. These moments are what Jiu-Jitsu is all about ❤️

He earned the belt. She lived the journey with him. 🥋

Every class. Every competition. Every day he chose to show up and improve - she was part of that story.

The old belt she’s holding represents years of dedication. Struggles. Growth. Small victories that quietly added up to this moment.

The new belt he’s wearing represents everything that comes next.

This is why belt promotion is bigger than a ceremony. It’s a family moment. A celebration of everyone who poured into the journey - on the mats and at home.

Had the incredible privilege of training under Grand Master Murgel today at his school for a kimura seminar, and I’m still processing how special that experience was 🙏
There are moments in this journey that reminds us why we fell in love with JiuJitsu. Today was one of them!
To be in the room, on the mat, learning the details of the kimura directly from a living legend of our art ,that’s not something we take for granted.
Grand Master Murgel’s depth of knowledge, his precision, and the way he sees the game is a masterclass in itself. Every grip, every angle, every transition there’s a lifetime of wisdom in those details🥋
To my students and training partners, I’m bringing everything I absorbed today back to the mats. The knowledge lives on when we pass it forward🥋
Obrigado, Grand Master Murgel. The honor was all ours❤️
