Sawnee School of the Arts, located in Cumming, GA, is celebrating 36 years of dance education.

Established as Sawnee School of Ballet in 1990 under the direction of Joan Kall Stewart, Sawnee School of the Arts is recognized in the Forsyth County community for its standard of excellence. Still not over recital week? Neither are we.

Check out our 2026 VIVID Recital Video Recap, featuring just a few of the colorful, energetic, and unforgettable moments from this year’s performances!

With so many dancers, classes, and amazing routines taking the stage throughout the week, there were simply too many great moments to fit into one video. If you don’t see your dance featured, don’t worry. This recap is just a small snapshot of an incredible week celebrating all of our performers.

Families, don’t forget to check your Parent Portal messages or your inboxes for the email sent on June 4 with complimentary download codes. Every dancer received codes to download a free video of each show they performed in.

Graduated from: Alliance Academy for Innovation

Future Plans: University of Georgia. I am hoping to major in history with the hope of becoming a professor!

Favorite Dance: Waltz of the Flowers choreographed by Miss Joanie, restaged by Miss Shara, for SBT’s Nutcracker

Favorite Color: Blue

Favorite Moment at SSA: There are so many, but one of my favorites this year was when me and my best friends found out Nutcracker casting together!

So excited for the real deal now! Tickets are still available for all shows. Here what we have this evening:

Show #1 at 5:30 pm
Show #2 at 8:00 pm

And Show #3 will be Thursday at 6:00 pm.

We can’t wait to perform!

It may have been a misty morning, but that wasn’t going to keep us from celebrating our Sapphires.

Family, friends, food, and fun!

It’s been a great year, starting with Hansel and Gretel, some community performances, and a record breaking Inspirations! We can’t wait to see these dancers take the stage at recital. You can catch them all in the finale!
