🐴🌿 A Morning at Camp (as told by the animals…) 🌿🐐

The horses noticed it first.

“Campers are coming,” one of them said, flicking an ear toward the driveway.

The goats had already figured it out, of course.

“They always come this time of year,” one said, standing on something it definitely wasn’t supposed to be standing on.
“I call dibs on being brushed first.”

The chickens didn’t say much. They just scattered dramatically, as if something very important was happening.

The barn cats stretched, blinked slowly, and settled in like they had planned this all along.

And then the kids arrive.

Some come ready to ride.
Some come ready to meet every animal on the farm.
And some aren’t quite sure yet… but leave knowing a lot more than when they arrived.

By mid-morning:

Someone is proudly holding a lead rope for the first time
Someone is brushing a horse like they’ve done it forever
Someone is laughing at a goat doing something ridiculous
And someone is realizing they’re braver than they thought

There’s dirt on shoes.
Hay in places it shouldn’t be.
And stories already forming before lunchtime.

By 12:30, the animals are ready for a break…
…and the kids usually are too 😊

Then it all starts again the next day.

Horse camp.
Farm adventure camp.
Or a little bit of both.

The animals will be ready.
(Especially the goats.)

🐴🌿 Why Camp at WildeWood Farm? 🌿🐴

Summer camp is more than just filling a few hours in the day—it’s about giving children an experience they’ll remember long after summer ends.

At WildeWood Farm, camp is designed to be just that.

This year marks our 30th year of summer camp, and over the years we’ve had the privilege of watching children grow into confident riders, responsible young adults, and even return later with families of their own. 💛

We offer three types of camp to fit every interest:
🐴 Horse Camp — for those who want to ride and learn horsemanship - get your own horse for the week
🌾 Farm Adventure Camp — for kids who love animals and hands-on farm life
🔄 Hybrid Camp — pick your own adventure

Each day runs 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM, giving kids a full, active morning while avoiding the heat of the afternoon. And if your child comes home tired… that’s a good sign 😊 It means they’ve been moving, learning, and fully engaged.

• Long pants
• Closed-toe shoes (riding boots recommended)
• Helmets required — borrow one to start, personal helmets encouraged for riders continuing beyond 5 weeks

* For the safety and comfort of our horses, we have a 205 lb. rider weight limit
* Riding is a full-body workout — it uses muscles you may not expect
* It’s completely normal to feel sore at first
* Be patient with yourself — strength, balance, and confidence improve quickly with consistency

We’re excited to welcome families to enjoy the farm at your own pace! While our schedule doesn’t allow drop‑in pony rides outside of birthday parties, you’re invited to explore our peaceful lanes, say hello to all the animals over the fence, and take photos—no experience needed.

Walk along the road and paddock fences

Busy week? Need a safe, engaging place for your kids for a day—or more? We’ve got you!
WildeWood Farm is hosting single-day and multi-day Holiday Break Farm Camp sessions that are fun, hands-on, and screen-free.

Ride a horse (intro lesson; helmets provided)
Feed and care for friendly farm animals
