Steady-state cardio may not be flashy, but it still works. 💜

This is the kind of cardio I love pairing with strength training because it supports your goals without leaving you completely wiped out.

Think: low Zone 2, steady pace, comfortably challenging, and repeatable.

A simple treadmill “prescription”:

25 minutes
3.0 mph
Incline 10
Low Zone 2 effort

Of course, adjust the speed and incline to your fitness level — the goal is not to crush yourself. The goal is to move, breathe, sweat a little, and finish feeling better than when you started.

Steady-state cardio can help:

✨ Clear your head
✨ Support fat loss goals
✨ Build endurance
✨ Support heart health
✨ Pair well with strength training
✨ Add movement without adding more stress to your body

And Mama, not every workout has to be intense to be effective! Especially when you consider elevated cortisol levels from Mommin’ it all day long.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is choose the simple thing you can actually repeat.

Post Leg Day hunger is REAL. 😅

After an hour and 15 minutes of lifting, I came home absolutely ravenous… so instead of standing in the kitchen eating everything in sight, I grabbed one of my favorite post-workout snacks:

✨ High-protein, low-sugar yogurt
✨ Real blueberries + blackberries
✨ Almost a full banana
✨ A little honey

And yes — after a hard strength workout, this is a GREAT time to pair protein + HIGH carbs.

The carbs help refill your muscles after training, and the protein helps support muscle repair and growth.

But here’s the real-life key, Mama…

Have something ready.

Because when you finish a hard workout and your body is yelling, “FEED ME,” that is not the moment you want to be making complicated food decisions. 😂

A simple post-workout snack can help you recover, stay on track, and avoid the “I’ll just grab a handful of everything” situation.

This is exactly what I mean when I say your plan needs to fit real Mom Life — not some perfect version of life none of us are actually living.

I came across this message from a client… from 6 years ago 💜
and it stopped me for a minute...

Because I remember exactly where I was when I received it—showing up every day, leading workouts, hoping it was helping someone… even if I couldn’t always see it.

👉🏻 And then this.

A mom who had been on the struggle bus…
who kept thinking, “one day I’ll start”…
and then one day, she finally did. 💪🏼

She didn’t join live.
She didn’t do it perfectly.
But she showed up… and she followed through.

And that was enough to change something in her.

Reading this again reminded me that it was never about the workout itself.
It was about giving women a way back to themselves… in the middle of real life.

Six years later, that mission hasn’t faded—it’s deepened.

Because now I understand on a completely different level what it really takes for a mom to start again… and keep going. The mental load, the stop-and-start cycles, the frustration of doing “all the things” and still feeling stuck.

And I’ve spent years refining, learning, coaching, and building something that actually meets women in that space.

👉🏻Something simpler.
👉🏻More intentional.
👉🏻More sustainable.

I’m right on the brink of sharing it… and it’s been built from moments exactly like this one.

There’s something really special about this bowl 💜

Not just because it’s beautiful 🤩 …
but because it’s organic, no pesticides, and as fresh as it gets—picked right from our backyard!

Basil 🌿 , peppers 🌶️ , cucumbers 🥒 , tomatoes 🍅 , eggplant… all grown with intention, patience, and a whole lot of love and hard work from my husband.

And I’m honestly so proud of him. 🙌

Even better?
Our son caught the bug too and planted his own little garden—basil, carrots 🥕 , tomatoes 🍅 , and peppers 🫑.

This is what healthy living looks like in real life.
Real food, grown with care, and a family learning together.

And let’s be honest… it makes eating well a whole lot easier when it starts right outside your back door 🌿

🤩Yesterday was the 30-year anniversary for Labrada Nutrition, where I briefly got to see my former coworkers and reunite with friends… Lee still looks amazing in his 60s, along with his son, Hunter, who is an international pro bodybuilder… 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

I also got to see Keith Klein, my friend and nutritionist for over 25 years. Much of my beginning knowledge in fitness and nutrition started here in the early 2000s — it was a seed 🌱 that kept growing, as I’ve continued to passionately pursue information, techniques and new holistic ways to help my clients and family at home ever since. 💜 It was so great to see everyone, just sad we had to leave early for a soccer ⚽️ game on the other side of town. 🥅
