2020 Texas teal was a odd season. Lots of things are changing on the Garwood prairie. Respect and enjoy the land that the lord has blessed us with.

Hunters enjoy classic duck hunting from well-camouflaged, comfortable blinds on the prairie.We have access to over 10,000 acres with lots of water. You can expect to hunt in flooded rice, reservoirs, cattle ponds, and flooded timber. Primary species include pintail, widgeon, teal, redheads, Mallards, black duck, Gadwall, Spoon bill, scaup with the occasional wood duck, bufflehead and canvasback .

We are so fortunate to live in the greatest country in the world the U.S.A. We are here on the coast of Texas (Best state in the USA) for the 2nd split opener. Build it and they will come! There is a TON of work that goes into having successful hunts. Behind the scenes it never stops, from the framing part of producing great habitat to pumping thousands of gallons of water, brushing blinds in the blistering heat and cold to lots of time just looking over the prairie trying to figure out what these birds are thinking! The more time and effort put in on the front side usually ends in a successful harvest but not always!! &theywillcome

And just like that it’s over..... This year was a grind and sure makes you appreciate the years that are gravy! Sometimes you need to slow down and pencil in what’s truly important in your life.
