🤸‍♀️✨ MEET COACH KATE! ✨🤸‍♀️

We are so excited to welcome Kate to the Bridge to Broadway Academy family as our new Gymnastics Coach!

As a former competitive gymnast who trained through Level 8, Kate brings a lifelong love of gymnastics and firsthand competitive experience to every athlete she works with. Through her own years in the sport, she developed a strong foundation in discipline, technique, perseverance, and confidence and now she’s passionate about passing those lessons on to the next generation. 💛

Having experienced both the challenges and rewards of competitive gymnastics herself, Kate understands how important it is for young athletes to feel supported, challenged, and excited to grow.

Her goal isn’t simply to teach new skills. She wants every gymnast to discover what they’re capable of, celebrate their progress, build confidence and determination, and develop a genuine love for gymnastics along the way. 🌟

We are thrilled to have her experience, energy, and passion joining Bridge to Broadway Academy and we can’t wait to see our gymnasts grow with her!

BLT never fails to surprise us and once again, they did it. ❤️🎭

We had the pleasure of seeing Alice by Heart at Biloxi Little Theatre, and what an imaginative and beautifully crafted production.

This is not an easy score. The music is intricate, unusual, and challenging, but this cast handled it beautifully. What impressed us most was that they weren’t simply singing the notes they were telling the story through the music. Every song had intention, emotion, and purpose.

And bravo to director Carolyn Martin. The direction was so clever and inventive. There were so many moments when we found ourselves thinking, “What a great idea!”

The table sequence especially fascinated us such a creative use of movement, space, and storytelling. The bird and turtle sequences were also wonderfully imaginative. Those are the kinds of theatrical choices that stay with you after the curtain comes down.

The choreography worked beautifully with the direction as well, and what really stood out was the ensemble as a whole. Every person on that stage had a purpose. Each performer committed fully to their role and contributed to the world of the story.

Congratulations to Carolyn Martin, the entire cast, creative team, crew, and everyone at Biloxi Little Theatre. 👏❤️

We walked away inspired and for us, that is one of the greatest compliments we can give a piece of theatre.

Bravo, BLT. Another wonderful night of theatre. 🎭✨

✨ Meet Ms. Jenny! ✨

We’re excited to introduce one of the welcoming faces of Bridge to Broadway Academy — Jenny Church! 💛

Jenny serves as our Director of Family Experiences, Front Desk Receptionist, and Little Twinkles Instructor, bringing together her background in education, dance, theater, and her genuine love for working with children.

🎓 Jenny holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education with dual certification in Elementary and Special Education and continues to maintain her teaching license. She spent eight years teaching third grade in the public school system and has also helped create and operate two homeschool programs.

But education is only part of Jenny’s story!

Before becoming a teacher, Jenny spent 10 years as a dancer, developing a love for the performing arts that eventually found its way back into her life through her daughters and community theater. Since then, she has been involved behind the scenes with stage management assistance, theater camps, backstage support, and prop making. 🎭✨

That combination of educator + dancer + theater mom + arts advocate makes Jenny such a wonderful fit for our youngest performers.

Little Twinkles is about much more than learning steps. At this age, we want our students to develop coordination, confidence, creativity, classroom skills, independence, and a love of movement all while having FUN!

And when Jenny isn’t teaching our Little Twinkles, you’ll often find her at the front desk, welcoming families, answering questions, helping our students, and making sure everyone feels at home at BBA. ❤️

We are incredibly grateful to have someone with Jenny’s experience, patience, creativity, and heart as part of our academy family.

🎭✨ WELCOME TO THE BRIDGE TO BROADWAY FAMILY! ✨🎭

We are SO excited to officially welcome Bonnie Hoeg to Bridge to Broadway Academy as our new Acting Instructor! ❤️🎬

Bonnie brings an incredible 41 years of performing experience and 26 years of teaching experience to our students, along with an extensive background in acting, directing, technical theatre, and youth productions.

As a National Board Certified educator, director, performer, and passionate theatre advocate, Bonnie understands that acting is about so much more than memorizing lines. It’s about developing confidence, creativity, communication, character development, stage presence, and the courage to make bold choices on stage. 🌟

Bonnie has spent years working with and inspiring young performers throughout the Gulf Coast, and she is especially proud to have helped start five young performers who continued their journeys all the way to Broadway! 🎭✨

We are incredibly excited about what Bonnie will bring to our students and the future of the Acting Program at Bridge to Broadway!

Today our Little Starters worked on balance and piqué technique! 🩰✨

We’re not adding the turn just yet — first, we’re learning how to step correctly, place our feet, find our balance, and build a strong foundation. 💪

And look at those balances! 😍 They’re getting stronger and more confident little by little!

At this age, it’s not about getting everything perfect right away. It’s about learning that when you keep trying, keep practicing, and don’t give up… you WILL improve. ❤️

🍫🎩 CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY JR. 🎩🍫

This one is very special to us. ❤️

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Jr. is our very first musical here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience to begin this new chapter.

First, we want to say a huge THANK YOU to Wings Performing Arts of the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center for welcoming us into this wonderful theatre community and giving us the opportunity to be part of this production. 🎭

Coming to the Gulf Coast and starting over in a new community was a big step for our family, so being trusted to jump in, create, collaborate, and work with so many talented young performers has meant so much to us. We are incredibly grateful for the warm welcome and for the opportunity to contribute to a program that gives young people a place to discover, develop, and fall in love with theatre.

And a very special thank you to our wonderful Director Rafe Oneal and Assistant Director Bonnie Brown Hoeg. ❤️

They have created such a positive, supportive, and collaborative environment throughout this entire process. It has truly been a pleasure working alongside them, and we feel very lucky that our first musical experience here on the Coast has been with such a wonderful creative team.

Daniel Therrien has had an absolute blast choreographing the wonderfully crazy world of W***y Wonka, and Minori Therrien has loved helping bring this beautiful music to life as Music Director. 🎶💃

But more than anything…

WE ARE SO PROUD OF THESE KIDS. 🌟

They have worked incredibly hard. They have danced, sung, acted, learned, laughed, pushed themselves, and kept showing up ready to work. Watching everything begin to come together has been so rewarding, and we are already incredibly proud of what they are creating.

This production is even more special to us because so many of our Bridge to Broadway family are involved in the show! ❤️ Seeing our students performing, growing, making friendships, and being part of theatre throughout our Gulf Coast community is exactly what we want for them.

So now we need YOU! 🍭

Come fill those seats, enjoy a wonderfully weird trip into W***y Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, and most importantly, come support these incredible young performers and all the work they have put into this show!

🍅🎭 AUDITION OPPORTUNITY — SOMETHING ROTTEN! JR. 🎭🍅

We’re excited to share another fantastic performance opportunity for young artists on the Mississippi Gulf Coast!

Wings Performing Arts will be holding auditions for Something Rotten! JR., and we’re especially excited that several members of our Bridge to Broadway Academy team will be helping bring this hilarious, high-energy production to life!

And here’s something we tell our students all the time: don’t decide you’re “not good enough” before you even give yourself the opportunity. Auditioning is part of the process. Walk into the room, be brave, do the work, have fun, and let the creative team see what YOU bring to the stage. ❤️
