Congratulations to the BBQ Smokies for their performance in the Texas High School BBQ State Competition!!!

After both Blue and Gold teams qualified through the Dan Dipert Regional Competition, the Smokies were ready to compete against 109 other teams in dessert, beans, chicken, ribs, and brisket.

Overall, both teams performed well, scoring above average in most dishes but especially high in beans and chicken: blue team placed 23 in chicken and 11th in beans among all other 109 teams.

We look forward to seeing them compete next year!

The Smokies had their first practice cook of the year today in preparation for Texas High School BBQ competitions. The brisket, ribs, chicken, beans, and dessert are all coming along well, and we wish them luck on future competitions.

The Smokies had another successful cook at the Jesuit Open House this Sunday. They smoked sausage, chicken lollipops, and delicious pork belly bites!
