Pleasant Grove Soccer & Sports camps

Working class Pleasant Grove gets SO little positive attention. If PG appears in the news, it's usually a crime story. It's an area that most of Dallas tends to ignore. Well Pleasant Grove Soccer & Sports is trying to change that. Here's a little more positive publicity for the community. (Thanks, WFAA Ch. 8!)

Pleasant Grove students chosen to walk players onto field during FIFA World Cup matches in North Texas The students were chosen through a series of free soccer clinics hosted earlier this year at W.W. Samuell High School by Pleasant Grove Soccer & Sports.

The Fox4 segment on our nonprofit and our efforts in getting some good kids an experience of a lifetime.

Pleasant Grove students to es**rt FIFA World Cup players onto field this summer Students from eight Pleasant Grove elementary schools will es**rt top soccer players onto the field during this summer's FIFA World Cup.

Pleasant Grove is a community that goes mostly unnoticed by greater Dallas. Well, this summer ... the whole world is gonna damn well see Pleasant Grove!
That's because 38 or our kids (who attend our Pleasant Grove Soccer & Sports nonprofit camps and clinics) will walk out with teams at this summer's World Cup -- an event watched by literally billions around the world!
They will be part of the Player Es**rt Program, sponsored by Quaker. Students age 8-11 were recognized and selected during a series of (FREE!) February soccer clinics for their citizenship, engagement with coaches, consistency in attendance and involvement in the nutrition and wellness programming connected to the clinics.
At the clinics, our shirt told the kids to "Dream Big." They just didn't know at the time how big they were allowed to dream -- all the way to the field at the FIFA World Cup!

Catching up here: A few words about our most recent activations, a series of clinics where we blended important nutrition information with our usual rotations of soccer skills sessions

Nutrition + Soccer = Opportunity — Pleasant Grove Soccer & Sports In this case, BIG opportunities We recently completed a series of single-day clinics that were unique in our portfolio of service to the wonderful Pleasant Grove community -- unique in some highly functional ways, but also in creating some unbelievable opportunities. As for the practical benefit:

Two days done in our series of February Fuel Up for Summer of Soccer clinics (soccer + nutrition info). Final day is Saturday. The kids in Pleasant Grove (140 of them so far) have been awesome! (Below is coach Rudy, coach Izzy and coach Ana going over the value of whole grains for our youngest group at the camp.)

NO camp this morning. Rain / storms on the way.
We will push everything back one week. So ... the next two Fuel Up for the World Cup camps will be:
- Saturday, Feb. 21
- Satruday, Feb. 28

Quick update: Our series of Saturday clinics in February are now full. We have almost 200 sign-ups!

We are having a "Get Ready for Spring Soccer" series of clinics!
It's all about Fueling up for the World Cup ... getting everyone ready for their spring leagues and getting excited about proper nutrition ahead of this summer's FIFA World Cup.
