Maya and Zdena lost to Shavit Kimchi and Elizaeth Coleman from Duke 8/10 in 3rd set super tiebreak in a highly contested match. Kimchi was 37 ITF and Coleman was 24 ITF. Both won pro events, players of good esteem in college and been ranked in WTA. Maya and Z had many chances being up a set and to break early but it’s how it goes. Maya lost today at the to Swedish Nellie Taraba Walberg 3/6, 3/6. It was good match but Nellie was a better player and showed it on key moments.
This was Maya’s last match as a junior tennis player as she has enrolled in college and started with Boise State Women's Tennis. Maya had a decent junior career reaching 94 in the world in ITF Junior ranking and playing in 3 junior slams. I want to thank Egor Shestakov , Phil Dent at Dent Tennis Academy, Rod Hinze, Ryan Akers, Joel Rockmore Jr. and Filiberto Flores for working with Maya on different tennis and conditioning aspects last year.
Special thanks to my friend former top 400 ATP player Fazal Syed who kept us in the house for few days, trained her and drove to NY today to be on court coach during the match. Also thanks to Beck Roghaar , her coach at college who came to support Maya but could not coach her due to NCAA compliance.
The day ended great with Fazal taking us out to eat at a street side Pakistani eatery eatery in Jackson Heights where we transformed Beck into a brown man today:)

We started our partnership with the Dallas Tennis Association to build in . We did our first workshop with Kiest Tennis Center yesterday for DTEA. Anirban Dutta
I want to brag on Vishaal Uppal and his player . I met Shrivalli last week for 1st time. She is very respectful young athlete. Today after winning two rounds in qualies, she beat from Texas in straight sets at W75 Lexington, KY. Fiona was number 1 in NCAA DI and qualified for USOP main draw singles last year. I have seen Fiona from age 10, she is as gritty as they come. Vishal talked to me a lot about their perfornance goals and it was great to see in livestream how it all came together. I think this young lady has a real shot to make in not too distant future.
Vishal has been the Indian Billie Jean cup captain for India and was the first to take India to World group. I learned a lot about coaching women athletes from Vishal and realized all the mistskes I did when coaching Maya.
