Hello Dallas residence. This is a great opportunity to bring trees into your neighborhood and to your home. Sign up and get your free tree! Trees provide essential shade and break up our Texas Heat Zones. They also provide food and shelter for insects
Birds and mammals. Adding to the tree diversity in the tree, canopy lessons widespread disease and climate stress.

Hello Friends, as we welcome September, it is also the start of North Texas Giving Day. We are happy to feature a photograph of one of our community members utilizing the NEW Fitness Equipment. This equipment was funded by
donations from people like you! North Texas Giving Day is our main fundraising campaign. Friends of Willis Winters Park does not charge any fees to be our friend or to be involved in our organization. Over the past years, we have been working with Dallas Parks and Rec to get much-needed trees in our park. The Juliet Fowler community has donated funds from their tree mitigation to supply trees for the park. Now it is the responsibility of the Friends group to provide the funds for irrigation. No trees will be added to the park without irrigation. Please support our stewardship and our efforts to increase the much-needed shade canopy within the park. The gift of trees will last for generations.

Playground update! Hello friends, please take the time to drop by the park this evening and take a look at the progress on our new playground.

Thank you to the volunteers from NCL who joined us this morning for our monthly volunteer day at the park. We picked up litter, freshen up our historic pavilion, spruced up our pollinator garden, meet with community members and enjoyed a soccer game. Another fantastic day at the park! Drop by at the end of the day to enjoy a beautiful sunset and cooler temperatures. We hope to see you next month on the last Sunday, 9 am till noon. Peace love and parks!

Hello Friends, as many of you know, Friends of Willis Winters Park has been working with Dallas Parks and Recreation for over 3 years to get much-needed trees in our park. We're pleased to share that Juliette Fowler Communities has donated a portion of their tree mitigation fund to plant trees in our park. The Park Department is working on a tree plan. Irrigation is NOT covered by mitigation funds. FOWWP must ensure the funds for irrigation before the project moves forward. The Parks Department has given us an estimate of $10,000. to $15,000. PLAYGROUND UPDATE!!!
The playground equipment company said the equipment should arrive this Thursday. The contractor said installation and surfacing should take 3 weeks after delivery so it should be completed the week of September 21st in plenty of time for the Oct 6th NNO event. WHOOP WHOOP!!
