We got rained out yesterday but our crew got some hardware today! 2nd place out of 8 in the PSA Memorial Day Bash beating a true 12U team to get to the Championship where we just didn’t have anything left. Proud of every single player for digging deep on a very hot day on turf!!

The best way to learn
the game is to watch it.
Watch the strategies.
Watch the situations.
What do they do with the ball when
it’s hit. Does that change based on
where the runners are?
What’s the batters approach at the
plate? When he has 3 balls, what
does he do? When it’s 2 strikes he
didn’t agree with, does he adjust?
Watch the coaching strategies.
What worked? What didn’t?
What’s the thought process
behind the decisions made?
Watching games can teach players just
as much as practicing and playing it can.
Probably more.
It can do the same for a coach or a
parent who wants to learn and grow.
Go watch your local high school games.
If there’s a college, make a day of it.
There are games on TV or live streamed
for just about every college team out there
and many are free.
If your player wants to pursue a college
athletic career, watch the school they’re
interested in. That’s the talent level you
need to be above to gain their attention.
Watching the game is a lost art these
days. But it’s by far the richest reward.
The only thing it requires is your time.
But it’ll give you so much more in return.
0-2 on the day but played solid defense all but 2 innings all day. Back at the field tomorrow for bracket play hoping we can string together a full game of solid defense.

Looking for an additional catcher to round out our Spring roster. We will be playing PG tournaments along with other local events.

Game 2 didn’t have the result we wanted so we had an early exit. 1-1 on the day but a lot of positives on the day. Not bad for a team full of mostly 11U players playing up in 12U.
Back to grind tomorrow. Next tournament in 2 weeks.
