Parents please have kids at grant high school at 11:45 so we can be suited up and warming up by no later than 12:00. Thank you all for bearing with us during the first few weeks I know it can be frustrating adjusting schedules, paperwork ect but hopefully after this week , we can find our groove as a team and work in the remaining players that came on late. As a reminder any outbursts from fans, players and coaches can result in immediate ejection and suspension(believe me as a parent and coach I struggle with this) please allow us coaches to deal with on field situations/injuries, again I know it’s hard when your kids get hurt but we do have a protocol we must follow. I have a couple extra mouth guards but please check your kids tonight and if they looked chewed on we have to replace for weigh in and inspections. I’m attaching some information that was passed on to me about the high school parking ect. Please read . For tonight please have them hydrate and cut off entertainment so they get great sleep. Thank you parents for your support. As always reach out to coach webster with any concerns

Important information for the upcoming week. Drew Reinhardt has spoken with Alex King the PE teacher the boys will be able to store their gear and bags in the school locker room in the towel cage. We are trying to arrange to drop them off Tuesday after practice if not we have been assured they will be able to drop off on Wednesday morning prior to 1st period. Pictures are Thursday at practice. Boys need to be in game gear and at the field by 4 ends at 6. Picture packets will go out as soon as we have them. The rest of the week is 4:15-5:45. A signup genius will go out for snacks signups. Do not feel obligated. We will have a spot for drinks and snacks per game so it's not so much on each family.
Parents please reply with your players name and game jersey # ASAP. Drew Reinhardt needs before a Sunday meeting. Thanks
Parents no practice on Monday. Practice Tuesday-Friday will be from 4:15-5:45. I understand getting to and from practice can be difficult with work, other sports and life in general. If there is any issue getting your kid to and from practice please reach out to the group thread and or Coach Webster. It is easier and faster for Coach Webster to drive kids home rather than waiting for rides and he is happy to do so if needed. I want to put out again how important it is for your boys to attend EVERY practice from here on out. We understand summer plans ect. however, we still have kids who do not have all their hours in pads and or completed all tackling drill requirements. We have an extremely small team and organizing practices and. Coaches work schedules with kids attending here and there does not help our team and hinders development overall. Football is a huge commitment and that commitment begins in August every year. I want to make sure moving forward that everyone understands the importance for safety reasons and team development. This is not a sport we're you can pick up here and there and try to teach young boys 11 different positions to fill in for missing teammates. It is extremely difficult. We have one more week of practice before our first game and we need all boys at every practice to make sure they are safe to play Saturday. Try to keep the boys active over the next three days hydrated, fed, and rested as we need complete focus in order to set them up to succeed. As always please reach out to Coach Webster with any concerns or if a ride is needed ahead of time. Game time is listed on the Sports Engine app and we will need to arrive 1 hour and 15 minutes early in full pads ready for warm ups. Again I know next week is going to be rough for all parents getting back into the school routine. Please reach out if any help is needed. I can't emphasize enough how important it is for all kids to attend EVERY practice. We appreciate all the support and want there to be a clear communication line with anything that needs addressed.Don't hesitate to reach out .
Parents: practice this week will be Monday-Friday 4-6 . If your child is still in the conditioning/pad phase it is imperative that they attend all practices before our 1st official game of the year in two weeks so that we can get through all training/conditioning/tackling requirements so that they are eligible. For the entire team we will be ratcheting up the intensity this week which will include more conditioning and more physicality in order to match our competition. I understand that the jamboree looked chaotic at times but it should have given our boys the reminder of just how fast and physical this game is even at the 7th grade level which is going to require us to shuffle our team around accordingly to match. Please talk to your child to ensure that they are ready to take on the challenge and responsibility's of any position that they are assigned in order to keep our teammates safe. If they are hesitant at all with playing the game of football please speak with me with any concerns or additional training that may help with development after practice. Obviously with any sport there is a learning curve. Us coaches also have areas that we need to improve in and I believe we will grow as a team and be competitive. Please make sure they are stretching/hydrating/and well fed at home because they will be sore the next two weeks. Once we have our team together as a unit we will be better in accessing the structure and facilitate consistency that is vital. As always please reach out to coach Webster with personal concerns or injury issues as soon as they arise because his biggest concern is the health and well being of the young men. This is 7th grade football not the NFL and nothing is worth risking long term injuries ect. That being said it's still football and there is a big difference between being hurt and injured and kids need pushed at this age and with this sport in order to compete, so Coach Webster will need parents help to reintegrate at home why practices are hard. Thank you all for your support and never hesitate to reach out to Coach Webster with any questions or concerns.
