2025 nearly broke me.
I donât believe you have to go through the bad to get to the good.
And stillâthis year was hard.
Small business ownership.
Aging.
Midlife + existential crises.
Perimenopause.
(If you know, you know.)
What this year did was force me out of quiet complacency and into changeâasking me to lean on people, to grow, and to learn in ways I hadnât before.
A few people showed up for me through mentorship, support, and friendship. I donât know how I wouldâve made it through without them. Iâm deeply grateful.
I donât make resolutions. I make a loose list. Life isnât linear, and growth doesnât need deadlines.
Every year, I face a fear. This year it was solo car camping.
Whenever I travel somewhere quiet, small or in nature, my nervous system settles in a way it doesnât anywhere else. That feels important to listen to.
So on New Yearâs Eve, I left the city and went to Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge.
No fences. No lights. No big sounds. No urgency.
Just life, moving freely.
Hereâs to 2026âchoosing what steadies me, more often.
