5 easy tips to remember for daily summer running!

1. Let's face it – IT IS HOT OUT THERE! Try to schedule in a run either in the morning or later PM hours to avoid really harsh mid-day sun & heat!

2. Water is your loving friend – go into your run hydrated, hydrate during, and increase intake after. Think of yourself as a steam locomotive – it needs water at all points to fuel itself down the track to get where it's goin'!

3. Dress comfortable and breathable – bright colors are a good choice. Reduce chafing on your body with the right garments that wick moisture and breathe, leaving you with less hot spots.

4. You already know what we have to say – WEAR YOUR SUNSCREEN!

5. Listen to your body. The heat can really take a lot out of us. Training for something big? Use frequency to adjust your schedule and avoid unpleasant weather that ultimately may leave you not feeling great.

🚴‍♀️ Family Bike Ride Checklist: Summer adventures are here!
Planning a ride to the park or your favorite ice cream spot? Before your crew hits the road, make sure everyone is prepped for a safe (and fun!) ride with these must-do tips:

🛠️ Gear & Accessories:

Helmets on every time—a snug, level fit is key! Children are always growing! Make sure to check helmet fit, adjust straps, and purchase new helmets when necessary.

Parents- have a bag / handlebar bag with extra tools, spare tube, even some snacks for your crew!

A bell is great for letting others know you're coming—especially on trails. When passing - give a kindly "on your left" and usually you'll be met with smiles of gratitude from fellow cyclists!

BRING WATER!

Lights on—front & rear—even during the day for max visibility. Prep your crew's bikes with lights for added safety. Lights can be blinking in the daytime and steady at night.

Do a quick maintenance check: brakes, tires, chain, and gears. If something doesn't seem right with one of your rides - please stop into one of our 30+ locations and have our experts check out what is going on!

🗺️ Plan Your Route:
Stick to quiet streets, bike paths, or greenways when possible. Avoid high-speed roads and busy intersections—especially if your riders are on the younger side.
Pro tip: Choose a destination everyone’s excited about, like a splash pad, park, or local ice cream shop 🍦

🚦 Bike Etiquette:

Teach the basics: hand signals, stopping at lights, and riding single file.

Remind your crew: bikes follow the same rules as cars.

Be polite, predictable, and aware of other people on the trail or road. Do not be afraid to use your voice and communicate!

👀 Stay Alert:
Even on a chill ride, riding defensively is important. Keep eyes up for driveways, turning cars, other riders, and curious pets. Encourage kids to speak up if something feels off—they’re learning how to ride and stay safe!
