Stout Built

Stout Built At Stout Built my goal is yo help you achieve the best you possible through optimal health and fitne Hi My Name is Jackie Stout.

I am a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, a mom, a wife, and a Marine Corps Veteran. I also suffer from lupus and mixed connective tissue disease. I have had my struggles with weight, loss of energy and PAIN. I know what it is like to workout everyday and not see results...there is nothing more frustrating. When I was diagnosed I decided there were two ways this thing could go. I could allow this disease to own me and I could take drugs that honestly in most cases were worse than the disease its self OR I could take charge of my health and I could own and control the disease. I decided to get my personal training certification; learn as much as I could about nutrition and how proper diet and exercise could help me manager the monster that is lupus. Since then I have lost 20lbs, everything I take for my lupus is homeopathic and natural and I am in better shape now than I was during my Marine Corps service. I tell you all of this because I have more than likely been were you are and know what it takes it to become your best self. It’s not easy, there is not magic diet or pill. It all comes down to good nutrition and proper exercise. Most of us just don’t know how to put the two together in the right quantities and the right times but with a little help and a lot of determination IT CAN BE DONE!

🔥 MOTIVATION MONDAY | Stop Negotiating With Yourself

Every time you keep a promise to yourself, you build something more valuable than muscle: TRUST.

You said you were going to train? Train.
You planned your meals? Follow the plan.
You said you’d go to bed earlier? Put the phone down.
You committed to changing? Start behaving like the person you’re becoming.

Motivation is great when it shows up—but it’s unreliable.

Self-trust is built when you follow through even when motivation doesn’t.

And here’s where people get it wrong:

You don’t need to crush every workout.
You don’t need perfect nutrition.
You don’t need 100% every day.

You DO need to stop repeatedly breaking promises to yourself because you “weren’t feeling it.”

Some days your win is a PR.

Other days your win is simply showing up and doing what you said you would do.

Both count.

This week, don’t ask yourself:
“Do I feel motivated?”

Ask:

“What did I promise myself I would do?”

Then go do that. 👊

📌 CTA: Pick ONE promise you’re keeping to yourself this week and drop it below. Then come back Friday and see if you kept it.

🔄 RESET SUNDAY | The “Minimum Standard” Reset

You don’t need a perfect week. You need a plan for the days that AREN’T perfect.

This Sunday, instead of planning your ideal week, decide what your minimum standards will be when work gets crazy, energy is low, or life happens.

Your minimum might look like:

🏋️‍♀️ Training: If you can’t complete the full workout, do the first 3 programmed movements well. Something productive beats skipping because you couldn’t do everything.

🥩 Nutrition: Build every main meal around a quality protein source—even when the rest of the meal isn’t perfect.

🚶‍♀️ Movement: Set a realistic daily movement goal you can maintain even on your busiest days.

💧 Hydration: Start your morning with water and keep it visible throughout the day instead of trying to “catch up” at night.

😴 Recovery: Give yourself a bedtime cutoff. Another hour of scrolling probably isn’t going to move you closer to your goals.

Here’s the mindset shift:

Your minimum standard should keep you moving forward without requiring your maximum effort every single day.

Because real consistency isn’t proving you can execute when everything goes right.

It’s having a system that keeps you from disappearing when things go wrong.

This week: stop chasing perfect. Protect your standard.

📌 CTA: Pick ONE minimum standard for this week and comment it below. Mine would be: “I still show up.”

TRANSFORMATION THURSDAY 💪

Transformation isn’t always about what changes in the mirror.

Sometimes it’s what changes on the bar.

Last week: 300 lbs × 8
This week: 310 lbs × 8

Same reps. More weight. More strength.

That’s progressive overload.

You don’t have to completely reinvent your training every week. You need to give your body a reason to adapt—one more rep, a little more weight, better control, better ex*****on.

Small improvements stacked consistently create BIG changes.

That’s how you build.
That’s how you change.

🌿 WELLNESS WEDNESDAY | Recovery Is Part of the Program

Training is the stimulus. Recovery is where your body actually adapts.

If you’re training hard but constantly feeling run-down, sore, or flat in the gym, the answer isn’t always more work. Sometimes better results come from improving what happens between workouts.

Today, check your recovery basics:

💧 Hydration: Don’t wait until your workout to start drinking water. Consistent hydration supports performance, recovery, and training quality.

🥩 Protein: Spread protein across your day instead of trying to cram it all into dinner. Give your body repeated opportunities to support muscle repair.

😴 Sleep: You can have the perfect training program, but consistently shortchanging sleep can make it harder to perform and recover well.

🚶‍♀️ Active recovery: A walk, light mobility, or easy movement can be exactly what your body needs on a recovery day. You don’t have to destroy yourself every time you move.

🧠 Manage total stress: Your body doesn’t separate training stress from work stress, poor sleep, and an overloaded schedule. More isn’t automatically better.

Strong bodies aren’t just trained hard. They’re recovered intentionally.

Your goal isn’t to see how much punishment your body can tolerate.

It’s to create an environment where it can perform, adapt, and get stronger.

📌 Save this as your midweek recovery check—and choose ONE recovery habit to improve today.

MONDAY RESET: Your results don’t start in the gym—they start the night before. 🌙💪

Quality sleep supports recovery, training performance, hunger regulation, and better decision-making. You can’t consistently out-train poor sleep.

Today’s action: Set a bedtime alarm for 30 minutes before bed. Dim the lights, put your phone away, and give your body a clear signal that it’s time to recover.

What’s one habit that helps you sleep better? Share it below. 👇

their results perfectly.

DEDICATION DOESN’T CARE ABOUT EXCUSES. 🥇🔥

Anyone can show up when they feel 100%.

Dedication is showing up when you don’t.

Steve came into the Kansas Senior Games injured AND sick — and still walked away with:
🥇 2 GOLD medals
🥈 1 SILVER medal

And Brian?
🥇🥇🥇🥇 4 GOLD medals.

That’s not luck.
That’s not “having a good day.”

That’s years of discipline, consistency, preparation, and refusing to quit when things get uncomfortable.

These two are proof that age doesn’t determine what you’re capable of — and neither does a bad day.

You keep training.
You keep showing up.
You compete anyway.

And sometimes… you come home with the hardware. 🏆

Congratulations Steve & Brian! You earned every single one of them.

🍑 SCULPT SATURDAY | Glute Finisher

You don’t need another 90-minute workout. You need better-quality tension.

Today’s Sculpt Saturday is a glute-focused finisher built around three things that matter for development: a shortened-position contraction, unilateral loading, and abduction.

🔥 3 rounds:

1. Hip Thrust — 12 reps
Pause 2 seconds at the top of every rep. Keep your ribs down and finish with your glutes—not your lower back.

2. Reverse Lunge — 10 reps each leg
Take a slightly longer step back and use a small forward torso lean to bias the glutes. Drive through the whole front foot.

3. Cable Glute Kickback — 12–15 reps each leg
Keep your pelvis square. Move from the hip instead of swinging your entire body.

4. Hip Abduction — 20 reps + 10 partials
Control the return. Don’t let the weight stack dictate your tempo.

Rest 60–75 seconds, then repeat.

The goal isn’t to rush through it.

Control the rep. Create tension. Make the muscle do the work. That’s how you turn an exercise into a physique-building tool.

📌 Save this and add it to the end of your next lower-body workout.
