While many are out of town on break, we show up day after day without fanfare. Getting the practice on. The noise disperses.
We’re in a waxing moon, building energy from the New Moon in Ta**us toward the Blue Moon at month’s end. On Wednesday the Sun moves into Gemini, shifting us from root to breath. A good week to feel the ground beneath you and then let something move.

Monday: Molly steps in for 6am. Laura-Beth at 9:45am. Wednesday: Jonas covers Eric’s 12pm.
Thursday: Aalap helps out with 5:15pm.
Friday: Alec subs for Melinda at 6am. Jonas’s again for 12pm. Daniel’s turn for the 5:15pm Handstand 101. Saturday: Molly brings Flow and Sound at 11:30am, this week only.

Many ways to cue movements and transitions, but the core of good cueing is delivering the necessary information in a timely manner so movement syncs with breath.
Sometimes that means cueing the actual steps. Other times, simply naming the posture is enough. The key is getting students in and out of the corresponding action at the right moment.
There is no single “right” or “wrong” way to cue, but there are ways that better support the flow of the class and the students’ experience. That’s what makes each teacher unique and why different students respond to different teaching styles. Teachers should cue in ways that feel authentic to them, while always keeping the students first.
Always beautiful to see Second Side teachers continually honing their cueing to better serve their students, each in their own unique way.
